Well ToS do take a lot of dmg, but can easily avoid any just using stun and immob skills. I can take 3/4 mobs around my lvl at 22 atm casting lightning - quicksand-lightning-heal, repeat.can usually kill in 2/3 lightnings and even before they reach me. If your in any danger just use quicksand / cobra stare dbl tab back or jump back and hit a quick heal or 2 then continue. Fun!

Probs atm is that i only have 2 dmg skills the rest are heals, buffs ad stuns. Should become a lot more powerful at higher lvls. Would be a lot higher lvl by now if i didnt have probs with internet and my comp.

You need a credit card to pay directly, but you can also buy a time card from a 3rd party which probably works out slightly cheaper anyway.

You may need a credit card to register the game, but the first 30 days are included in the purchase price. As long as you remove the credit card before the 30 days are up it won't be charged. In this time you can go out and buy some 60 day gamecards and use those to top up your play time when your free 30 days expires.

This is what I'll be doing as I've found 60 day game cards on the net for around £17. Factor in a quidco discount and it becomes cheaper than my current WoW sucscription on a month by month basis. Certainly cheaper than the £10.50 odd you will pay if paying direct via credit card each month.

not really because they will ruin the game economy before its even started,
"They" (and people like them) pretty much made it impossible for casual gamers to buy anything on daoc by artificially inflating the ammount of gold in the markets
Fortunately they were banned, but it took literally months for the difference to be realised

I hope they are permanently banned for bug abuse, which afaik is in the terms when you sign up

Is there a setting to turn off that yellow arrow that floats above your current target? Looking at that screen shot it stays on-screen even when you turn of the UI? I doubt I'll cancel my order over it but I can see that will have the potential to annoy me at times in game.

Ah well, looks like I'll be using the timecards then if they don't accept Solo, which is rather annoying. Does this mean I'm going to have to buy the game and a timecard to activate my account in place of a credit/debit card?

Well, not really, as Vanguard didn't/doesn't accept Solo card payments so I had to buy an SOE timecard for that which aren't actually on sale over here so had to order it off the internet.

I just ordered my copy of the game, but not got a clue what kind of character i want - though i will mainly be PvPing. Anyone got any recommendations?
