Age vs gaming

I must admit im quite surprised by the average age of people on here, I was expecting early 20's. Still an excellent sign of the growing maturity of gaming.

23 and I would say about 6 hours a week. Would love it to be more unfortunately women, music and alcohol I love more.

Same here. Was also expecting an early 20 average.

Don't feel quite as guilty any more and been playing Halo 3 all day :D

Though I do still feel I should be doing more other stuff - house work/video editing/learning to advance my career which has stagnated horribly/getting out of the house. Have even started neglecting grocery shopping and keep getting take-aways

Suppose its still as the xbox is relatively new (2/3 months) and still trying to catch up a lot of games I missed.

I am 30 been gaming since Spectrum/ Commodore days on Computers and NES/Master System console wise.

Don't worry, I am still Whooping people half my age every night. Young people are rubbish at games (on these forums anyway)

Just Bring It Jabronis/Students/Kids/Workshy *******

Middle Aged people rule :) (But only if they have the same sig as me :) )

Well I'm 61 in August and still play games.I am more selective in what I buy now, prefer the First Person Shooter,Crysis,Stalker sort of games.

Also have PS3 - DS (X2) - PSP Slim - and a Wii

Age is no barrier.

62 here, been gaming since the days of Sinclair, most of you will probably continue playing into old age & why not ? if its your hobby then its the same as playing golf or whatever & age is immaterial

I'm surprised by the age of people as well, thought it would quite a bit younger although I imagine most young people are still in bed :p

It's Saturday afternoon:

1) Youngest gamers (10-13) - Shopping with parents. Begging them to buy that cheap game they see in the supermarket that came out yesterday.

2) Young gamers (14-17) - hanging around shopping centres with other "yoofs" and popping into game stores to try to prove they are cleverer than store staff

3) Student gamers (18-21) - Home for the weekend with folks (consoles stuck at Uni), getting Mums to do weekly washing for them and stock up on cooked and frozen meals in tupperware containers for next week.

See, how sharp I am, considering I am a 30 yr old :)

35, had the usual spectrum, c64, megadrive, Nes etc. After the N64 I didn't have any means of gaming until a mate got me into PC gaming about 8 years ago.

Now I only have a PS3 and it's mainly used for dvd's/blu-rays, but i still game now and again if I get the time, and I can get my kids off Guitar hero for long enough...

hi

43 here am playing timeshift/ painkiller at the mo . can remember going round my mates house and playing on his vectrex and watching him play elite on his acorn electron awsome memories

cheers

23, started playing frogger and space invaders on the pc aged 4, moved on to a NES when I was 7. I'm more of a pc gamer at the moment, but I flit between the two depending on what game I want to play.

21, probably spend a couple of hours a day gaming.

Been playing games since the Commodore 64 a long time ago, then weet Amiga then to a PC.

At the moment im playing more PC games than console, but it changes depending on whats out (got a 360, PS3 and PC). At the minute im spending a lot of time round at a mates on Command & Conquer and LOTR: Battle for Middle Earth.

A few years back I used play for clans in games constantly, and forever be playing clan matches on RVS and CSS, but ive pretty much grown out of those now.

23 (24 on the 25th!). Pretty much a console/handheld gamer now. I try and play for about 5 hours a week. Wish I had more time!

28 here - surprisngly younger than a lot of gamers on here
started on a c64 over 20 years ago then moved to an amiga 500+ via a mastersystem and megadrive then finally to a pc (just to play civilisation! and frontier)
got myself all three main consoles in the last year or so and prolly have around 40 games on them although i only play around 1-3 hours a week
with three young kids i dont have as much time as i would like
i used to play 40+ hours a week on counterstrike when i was around 21 :D
