Age vs gaming

Well, I'm 36 and I've been gaming since the bat & ball paddle game that could be plugged into the back of the TV. Will I ever stop gaming, not blooming likely as I've got a two year old son who will no doubt be into games just like his dad and I'll happily buy him the next generation consoles and PC bits and join in the fun.

34.

I'm a Dragon 32 -> Amstrad CPC6128 -> Amiga 512 -> (large gap filled with rock lifestyle)-> PC -> PC + PS2 -> PC + PS3 + 360 + Wii graduate.

Im 25, started gaming back in the Spectrum and C64 Days. Have myself a PC and PS3. Mostly game on my PC at the moment, im sure the 29th of this month will bring the PS3 back into the picture.

32. These days my gaming is split almost evenly between my 360 and PC. I don't play anywhere near as much when compared to 10, or even 5 years ago and my gaming habits have changed too. I stick to genres I like, rather than have a pop at everything, like when I were a lad.

I doubt I'll ever stop gaming. I'll just get worse at it and become more opinionated at the same time. :D

TBH it's irrelevant what age you are, so long as you enjoy it.
Woman who I work with, well her Father has just bought a brand new Dell XPS 720, for gaming, and he's in his 70's!

My old man is 71 this year and he can't get enough of the Medal of Honor and Call of Duty series, he loves them!

I'm 30 this year and I've been gaming since the Atari 2600, I've owned pretty much everything during those years and I can't see myself ever stopping.

If I'm honest, I am addicted.

Have been gaming since pong, zx 81, speccy etc etc - had a sabatical for a few years and started playing ut99, quake 3 etc and switched to 360 gaming when that was released. Looking at 40 this year in December - stilll loving it but it can be a real time leech sometimes

I'm 19, 20 very soon. I'm in a decent relationship living with my GF who governs my gaming time, I find I have to play arcade / pick up and play games to gain enjoyment in such a short space of time. I've stopped playing PC FPS internet games and also nearly got beat by my 10 year old cuz on FIFA 08 (he's good enough to enter our league)

Finding I'm growing up but not out of gaming

I'm 20 and I often feel old where gaming is concerned. But that's mostly due to the fact that out of my friends, I'm the one who games the most, and although they do like to game, I do get the feeling that they think I'm pathetic for being so into gaming.

I'd rather spend an evening playing games than going out to some dirty bar or club, pay for entry to listen to some usually really poor music, and pretend to dance. I find it very anti-social as I'm unable to really interact with anyone properly - and if being social is simply being in the vicinity of others, then I reject 'being social' as the motive for any activity.

I look forward to gaming for another forty years, at least. :P

I must admit im quite surprised by the average age of people on here, I was expecting early 20's. Still an excellent sign of the growing maturity of gaming.

I'm very surprised as well.

I am 22, I was heavily into PC gaming, playing in clans for COD games and BFV, BF2 etc.

In the last year or so I have moved over to console gaming as I now live with my GF and I don't get as much time for gaming. I know I will never grow out of it.

19 but i don't see a problem with older people playing games just as much / more than me. My dad loves playing games but he's to un-withit to bother buying the most recent console plus xbox live even though i know he'll love it.

I'm 30 and have been playing games since I was about 6 or so (Acorn Electron and Chucky Egg ;)).

I went for a long time between the end of the Snes and the release of Zelda Windwalker on the GC where I only played PC games, now i'm back playing console games a fair bit (thoroughly enjoying Mario Kart at the moment).

I don't think age is much of a relevance in gaming, as I know people up to 70+ who play games on a regular basis.

I'm 38, been gaming since the Atari 2600. Do most of my gaming now on a 360. I don't think I'll ever stop
...although at most i get about an hour or so a week. I'm married and have 3 young children, work full time, so time is limited these days. Back in my 20's I would have been tagged as a hardcore gamer, now it's casual at most.
