Ahmaud Arbery killing trial

Oh look emotive, hyperbolic language.

It's not really though is it. While this is a situation that clearly got out of hand, if you're a black person and you see trucks heading your way with armed people and a Confederate flag - which has been linked to racist groups - then you're not going to think they're about to ask for directions.

The media is also to blame for making white people being racist which no doubt plays on people's fears.

I thought this was a clear cut case of Confederate `muricans exercising their god given right to mob justice and lynching based to racial stereotypes and being short on brain cells.

Should be a 1 day court job. Idiots get done for manslaughter/attempted murder. I'm sure self defence will come into it when he was wrestling the gun from them.

Nothing like the other trial.

This is a pretty open and shut case though. That would be why I would assume it doesn't have as much traction as the other case, OP.

Personally I'd just ignore the serial OCUK race baiter and just get on with life. There's a lot of very good people on here, don't bother winding yourself up over a massive minority of the forum

Derek Chauvin was pretty much an open and shut case. You only needed to watch the video of him slowly murder than man over 9 minutes to know he was guilty. Yet that thread was how many pages? And how many posters were claiming it was a sham, the judge should throw it out the case was that weak, the prosecution hadn't proven anything, he was scum he had it coming etc etc.

And how did it work out in the end despite what the American Layers of OCUK proclaimed to know? I get where you're coming from but it's just wasted energy

You're still doing it! Just stop :p

Did he knock her down because she is white or did he knock her down because he's a ****? Not every case of someone assaulting someone of a different colour is racism. This case clearly is though.

Nice whataboutism though.

He didnt go on a knocking people down spree. He chose a white old lady.

She wasn't even a convicted weapon toting individual, unlike the Ahmaud.

100% agree with that statement, unfortunately it seems to be the default "go to" insinuation when a Black person is attacked by a White person, irrespective of how factual accurate it is, but it's almost never the default when a Black person attacks a White person, as if racism only goes one way for some folks.

This case clearly is though.

Why do you think this case is "clearly" racism? Were the attackers heard on video using the N-Word, or shouting racial abuse at the kid, or have a history of racist speech/online hate etc? I don't know if the insinuation is based on something you've heard them say in the video or seen posted afterwards or is it just based on them being Southern and having a Confederate flag IDK?

Racial prejudice, they assumed a black man out jogging was a thief.

Indeed. The same people who made these posts are still unapologetically posting up a storm else where with zero reflection.

So what if they saw a black person before? I don't follow your logic.

You think if 3 men chased down a random Asian jogger and killed them, whilst being filmed, nobody would care?

Clearly. Are you saying that a black person just happened to pass them and they started singing and hollering, grabbed their guns and rope and decided on a good ol' lynching?

I said "wouldn't be getting so much attention" not that "nobody would care".

Take this one for example

https://nypost.com/2021/03/12/elderly-asian-man-dies-after-being-punched-by-california-robber/amp/

Apparently the guy has a history of attacking elderly Asian people. Do you think this would have received the same level of attention if it were a white guy with a history of attacking elderly black people, and a 75 year old black man had died?

It would have received more. Only whitey is evil and racist remember.

Not all of you, but I've always had my suspicions about you :p

(Clearly a joke before anyone gets upset)

I was going to make some mention about looking at you suspiciously through squinted eyes but that would no doubt enrage someone somewhere!

Which is what I said in post number 6..

People are so socially conditioned to see the bogeyman of racism where there isn't any these days that they'll jump on any little thing to confirm their biases.

Well there is the fact that after he was killed this was said

“Mr. Bryan said that after the shooting took place before police arrival, while Mr. Arbery was on the ground, that he heard Travis McMichael make the statement: ******* *n-word” Dial said in testimony.

https://www.reuters.com/article/us-usa-shooting-georgia-slur-idUSKBN23B2H4

Now I'm going to infer from that that race was definitely involved in this.

*I've replaced the word as it would just be censored.

So you don't think this case is about racism? The killing and the cover up that followed?
