Never been sold on these. My sister in law bought one about a year ago and raves about it every time the topic of food comes up, and my wife's been listening.

After her hinting for about two weeks, moulding me like the piece of putty I am, she eventually got her way and we did some research. Today we bought a Philips AirFryer and made some burgers in it.

All I can say is wow! What an amazing gadget. Not only did the patties cook in about a quarter of the time it takes to fry them, but they were nice and succulent and tasted great. All the nasty fat dripped into the bottom of the fryer too, so a bit healthier.

I will say that if you intend on using one of these, make sure it's in a well ventilated room and cover any smoke detectors as it smokes like crazy.

Genuinely impressed!

Anyone else got one? Any tips on using them?

Craigs been using one for a while, he'l be along with some suggestions soon :)
i thought about it as the chips he was making with it looked great, but for me i think it'd be one of those things i use for a few months.. then it'l sit in the back of the cupboard forgotten about

Just done fish fingers in it - straight out the freezer, 3 mins to warm up, 8 mins to cook, 2 mins to eat on a sandwich! Simple/easy/quick!

I like - anyone got any other recipies/ideas for baking etc in it?

We bought the Phillips one a few months ago and use it nearly everyday.

Frozen samosas and kebabs are great.

Ive done fresh pakora's in ours, game out great with a dab of olive oil, mom didnt like them though, as she's an old school asian mom who doesnt like all this healthy eating malarky.

Shish Kebabs made with chicken or lamb come out great, as does the usual chicken drums sticks, with a nice marinade.

Oh i should add, i have the Phillips airfryer, just wish it was a bit bigger.

I have both an actifry and a airfryer. The actifry is best for chips and chicken with the extra oil for flavour but when doing more delicate items the Air fryer is brilliant. I hardly use my oven anymore :D

So far - 1 week on, very impressed, chicken breast done in 10 mins, moist and perfectly cooked. Onion rings from the freezer, crispy and done in 8 mins - really useful. Hardly put the oven on this week so far!

Made some homemade chips in my Philips Airfryer yesterday, admittedly they soaked for a few hours and dried for 4-6 hours but they came out amazingly well and were very nice. Great for cooking bacon too, especially if you like it super crispy.
