Air Fryers

Sorry - mine is airfrier. Kids love it as they can just throw things in it safely, leave for 10 mins and it's done.

No hot ovens etc.

Does the Airfrier make good crispy chips then?

The Duronic looks good value on Amazon.

I read and watched a lot of reviews and settled on the Philips. Waited for the sales last christmas and picked up the larger size.

As booyaka says, it's easy and safe for the kids to use, this was the main selling point. You don't need to touch or turn the food. Chips are nice and crispy in 10 mins. I usually put in some frozen chips for 5 mins, ad in onion rings, fish fingers, sausages, kebabs etc for another 5 and it all comes out just the way I like.

The Duronic looks like a similar design to the Philips, so should cook the same.

I use my actifry quite a bit but occasionally it has the habit of destroying the food as it turns it.
I use it mainly for potatoes and chicken but it's hard to tell sometimes which type of potatoes will survive the cooking process.

Hi guys, recently been watching videos on these and wondering if anyone on here has tried Indian cooking with the air fryer?

I cook a lot of Indian food, so this would be ideal for cooking pakoras, bhaji and maybe even biryani!

Anyone tried the above and had good results?

Hmm, these sound great. Just bought a slow cooker and a pressure cooker using my clubcard points as the points are doubled at the moment. Still have £70 left and was trying to decide what to get.

EDIT: gah, not much choice on Tesco direct. Might just get the Tefal one from Amazon.

Are they any good for sweet potato fries?

What can an air fryer do that a fan assisted oven can't?

Not much but they are usually quicker and crisp nicer. Some models are better than others for it. I find fries or chips from my airfryer are miles better than my oven. I also cant do vegetable crisps in my air oven without them coming out a bit chewy but the airfryer handles it without issue.

Well the average bag of mccains is 900g, so I'd imagine just a little under a bag a time.

Can you fill to capacity, do you not need space for the air to move between each food item?

Only asking as the Philips does not have a paddle like the Tefal to move the food around.

Forgot to post in here, got the Tefal XL Express (oooOOOOOO) boxing day. Loving the roast potatoes and chips coming out of it and the kids sausages also cook really well.

Wanting to try some new stuff in there like a stir fry or curry soon.
