I've found I can use the fan oven temp listed but knock the time down by 10 minutes or so.

So let’s say a product states fan oven at 190c and 25mins, in your fryer you go 190c and 10mins according to chart?

Yep, obviously may need a bit of tweaking but it seems to be a good baseline to work from.

We find say with chips that state 20/22 minutes in the oven at 180°C they can be done at the same temp, but in 15/16 minutes in the air fryer.

I will perhaps preheat for 3minutes.
Going to do something easy, one of them part baked baguettes.

Don't need to preheat as it heats up ridiculously fast. AF400 owner here.

Ah I have the foodi max and it goes into pre-heat mode before saying add food.

Cool ok.
I did before I read your post though, I did 2mins @ 200c.
And then cooked a part baked baguette @200c for 5mins using airfry function.
Came out perfect and had a better crispness to it compared to oven, which also takes around 12mins to cook (including preheat)

Can you buy anything else < £100 thats actually decent and comparable? Would only be me using it (I know very little about them fyi)

The Cosori ones get a lot of mentions on here, Amazon had stock the other day, although 5.5L version is sold out again.
