It does go off, but only after 2 hours though (According to the MKBHD video)

Yeah if you don’t put it in the case, which is an unnecessary extra step to me. You also wouldn’t want to put them in that case and in another case if they were going in your backpack/bag too, so using better protection it seems a bit silly that you’d have to wait 2 hours before they shut down. Anyway given it’s either a magnet or having the cushions/drivers turned 90 degrees it’s not high-tech so I imagine 3rd parties will implement it in their stands cases, but of course that means if you already own such things you’ll need new ones anyway.

I've got QC25 that i've had since release, thought these would be the perfect upgrade.

Then I seen the price, damn they've completely over priced these.

how do you know they have over-priced them?? No-one has released anything yet about how they actually sound and perform compared to other headphones.so statements like these are just pointless and frankly just irritating, wait until the reviews are out.

Agreed. We don’t know what sector of the market they’re really aimed at yet. As MKBHD pointed, out are they a competitor for consumer £350ish models or are they competing with the £2k+ professional audio market? If it’s closer to the latter then they might not be too bad.

Think of them as the equivalent of the £1000 Pro monitor stand or the £700 wheels :p

I mean, this is a company that charges £700 for wheels, £50 for a silicone case, £35 for a 2m cable, £50 for a silcone watch strap etc etc it's a safe assumption (i know I shouldn't assume that's just daft) to say they're way over charging for what they are.

Better price point, I think these sell like hot cakes.

£150-200 absolute max imo.

Apple will have no problem shifting these at £549, most average folk that will want a pair will get these on credit being monthly payments or Buy Now Pay Later, so you see a lot around by this time next year mainly on students heads, I know my Niece wants a pair & she probably get them out of her Student Loan, as my Sister definitely won't splash out £549 on headphones for her lol.

Myself I'm happy with my Sony WH-H910N h.ear On 3 which cost me less than £200 & do a great job blocking out the TV when the Wife watching her rubbish, plus also have decent audio quality & features without breaking the bank.

But if people want to pay £549 for some headphone's then good on them, doesn't matter if the sound quality isn't upto the same level as other headphone's in this price bracket, if they happy with their purchase then that all that matters.

By that logic Sony XM4s should be £100 with their cheap injection moulded plastic build. Don’t get me wrong, these are at least £100 too expensive and I certainly will not be buying a pair but they are obviously better constructed than the £350 (RRP) headphones on the market and have a much higher bom cost, plus Apple tax and no discounts.

£400-£450 would have been a sensible price, that said, I still wouldn’t have bought them.

That depends if you see headphones as a fashion accessory or not.
There is no way on earth I would buy these over some Sony’s or sennheiser’s etc.

They’re using AirPod pro logic and they’re different imo. I have the Sony’s and AirPod pro and the Sony are better quality (audio and materials), however the airpods are better because their size makes them very portable so I’m willing to sacrifice some quality.

For big over ear headphones the most important thing is sound quality. If I’m spending £500 they better be on par with the competition else I could not give a crap.

I’ve not listened to the AirPod max but I will bet they won’t compete audio wise in their price category. Also, headphones in that price range look very nice. These things are masculine in size and feminine in form. I honestly wouldn't use them if you gave me them, I have nicer headphones that cost half the price.

I completely agree, I have a pair of shure se315 and they sound way better than my AirPods. The easy of use, easy to carry etc it’s just so much better.

Apple could release a dog turd with an apple logo and people would still buy it... Doesn't mean its a good product though does it?

The problem is the moronic sheep who will go and buy whatever apple sells and acts like its the best thing ever. Cant fault apple for taking advantage of those idiots, because we'd all do the same thing if we had the same level of control over them

There’s 5% of nutters on either side of the 90% of normal consumers who’ll buy something they like from Apple if they have the money.

5% would indeed buy a dogturd which bore the Apple logo. There’s also the 5% who wouldn’t take a tablet that cured their cancer if it had an Apple logo on it.

Not that at all I’m interested in buying a pair of these headphones. I have AirPods Pro and a pair of Sony xm3 over ears. AirPod pros are brilliant because of their portability but sq wise?? The xm3’s I have completely blow them out of the water. Don’t get me wrong the AirPod pros are pretty decent and I do like them very much, just wish they did black colour in them.

Getting back to these headphones, I’m more interested in how they sound sq wise and the NC. Are they going to be any better than the xm3’s or xm4’s is going to be interesting. Also let’s not forget the higher end of headphones.

But my opinion is if people want to splash £500+ on a pair of headphones then let them at it. Each to their own, I know a few of my friends have scoffed at me buying a pair £300 headphones ie when I bought my xm3’s a few yrs back. They can’t scoff at me for my AirPod pros as my missus bought them for my bday though lol.

I would be truly amazed if they can produce high quality headphones. They have produced nothing that is top of the list audio wise. Like you say the airpods are ok but Sony are much better sq wise.

Very true, but you very rarely hear about the 5% that hate apple stuff yet you see a lot of apple lovers

Strange, I see more people who hate Apple but can't seem to quantify it with anything than people who love Apple. On the other hand, most people are moderates and take each product as it is.

Probably because apple don't do anything particularly badly - the problem with apple is the way they treat their customers. They will only get away with it for so long and then it will bite them on the rear.

There are definitely far more apple fanboys than there are apple haters.. I think thats quite clear tbh, if not for it Apple wouldnt be the size of company that it is
