Very nice guns Perywinkle. I like the 416.

Doing one of the airsoft trials tomorrow. Just there for safety mind.... But will be an interesting day. In some ways disappointed running full face protection as it is a pain in the butt for aiming, however, safety first in everything we do.

How do you guys deal with Richochets in buildings? I am concerned that it allows you to potentially hit the enemy without them seeing you (off walls etc)

Most sites disregard richochets, can be hard to tell though when a hail of bb's is heading your way. So if in doubt always take it :)

I've given up wearing a lower mask as it's such a pain.
Nowadays it's just a pair of ESS ICE's. you get the odd stinger, but it makes the day far more comfortable.

Very manly picture, until you notice the ironing board. :p

Also what's the body of the CYMA MP5K like, is it any better or worse than other manufacturers?

Hehe, my man cave seems to have become a dumping ground for the ironing board, and drying frames :s

Upper reciever, magwell, outer barel ect are all metal, fore grip and lower reciever are the only polymer bits. It's a heavy little sucker, very well put together though :)

Today was the airsoft trial for the site and it went pretty well. the richochets were not really an issue that I could tell, even in our cqb-ish hamlet structure.

Disclosure: We do NOT run walk-on days for paintball... so doing airsoft where it is primarliy walk-on days is a totally new concept for us, and will be a learning exercise. Mask wise, we let them wear what they wanted, which was good (and bad, as we have always been super hot on safety with paintball). Whole range of different kit on show, which was good to see the different guns. Totally different, and was much like a paintball 'walk-on' day, so we will have to clamp down on safety a bit. Frankly, we don't like even empty guns being waved in our faces or people firing off their guns when we are 'all safe'. That is not acceptable at the site. I believe this is due to the lax of safety at other sites.

As a trial, we took onboard a lot of what was being said, and just let them get on with it. The pace of the games was generally slow which we are not used to as paintballers (in woodland), and we had to stop ourselves from trying to encouraging them and just let the game flow. Small things were surprising, like we'd have people walk off to get more ammo from admin... which we thought odd as you'd think they would have brought spare with them. Maybe they play at really small sites compared to ours? As said, we will adapt and try to make it easier for the players the more we play.

It will be interesting to see how it develops, and we got a lot of very good feedback and look forward to future games so we should easily be able to tailor it more to airsoft. Overall, a good day with fair play.

We have cheeseburger slope (not as steep as hamburger hill ;-) ) having a major overhaul, which means we can also reuse our bridge assault game area and both are awesome area's, and I'm REALLY looking forward to cheeseburger, it's gonna be epic :-D We will have to structure our milsim area a bit better for airsoft.

On the whole a very good day :-) Some lovely looking guns, and good to meet a friendly bunch of guys who all had fun :-)

One area of concern. Bio balls. People were getting jams with them (they brought them along, they were not ours) which is apparently common, and we will only run with bio due to it being a wood. Are there any decent and consistent brand of bio balls?

(Note: Group photo show's 20 players + an observer to give us some feedback, there were 27 players in total. As part of the trial day and feedback, we walked them around the site for an hour first and some hadn't arrived yet).

Madbull do bio's which are pretty consistent, other than that asg blasters are common at a lot of sites (they are no bio though)

Airsoft games are generaly a bit slower paced than paintball games. The variety of guns and effective ranges means you don't have to close so fast.

Most sites i've been to don't like even dry firing in the safe zone. they operate a mags out and clear gun policy before entering the safe area.

ASG do Blaster BIO's but aren't as high grade as the normal Blaster series (Normal blaster are grade 5, and bios are grade 3).

Same, most my old local sites have a mags out policy. Pistols can have mags in but only if holstered.

Mad bull huh? OK, I'll look those up. Thanks for the advice on that :-) I imagine the reality is that the balls that are 'bio' take eon's to degrade anyway, but at least we did the best in good conscience as such.

As for speed, I think it was more down to the lack of team work and communication that slowed the game down. As soon as they were talking in games they got things done. It could easily be, that they did not know the site and will need to find their orientation (it's a 120 acre wood.. it can be disorientating) and comfort level there. Our first official event will be end of April, so will report back on how we got on, and if we managed to act on the players feedback etc, and how we improved things (which we will do). Constant improvement :-)

Mags out, clear the breach was exactly how we were operating today. On a proper day, day it will include a head count as well, and no dry firing. I imagine we will have a test area set up by then (as a public paintball site with no walk-on's there was no need for a sealed test range, until the airsoft came along).

I always liked the idea of airsoft, and have owned a springer pistol (FS92) and a Springer SA80, but nothing decent. Hopefully I'll get a chance to play soon.

I took my brand new WE G36 GBBK (as seen in previous posts) to Reading Shopping Mall Site, expecting to see around 340 with not so good gas.

How I was wrong, the gas wouldn't even pull the bolt back halfway.
Put good gas in, then fired two mags through the gun.
FPS:
High: 443.4
Low: 398.8
Average: 420.2

Every single person was shocked, what a fantastic stock gun!

Their engineer has one and was amazed by it!

Obviously wasn't allowed to use it, so I used a back up M4.

I have now bought a Ratech Npas System, fitting later this week, literally can not wait to get this gun out on the field.

I know a few sites which allow gas assaults to be up to 400fps.

Once returned home from the event my friend and I decided to see just how far this gun would carry 0.28g bbs. We created a small range in one of my fields, which I use my crossbow in, and compared it to other guns.

The G36 equally matched my friend's VSR G-Spec which is upgraded to about 500fps.

Both of us were amazed once again.

I recommend this gun to anyone and everyone. I will give more information on figures once I have fitted the Npas system.

I'm in the market for a G36, got my eye on a ICS G33 but after reading your post I'd like to know more about it. What's the build like? Has it got a top rail to add a scope to it?

WOW!!! Some awesome guns on here!!

Since I'm a complete noob what M4 would you guys recommend? I'd like it to look as realistic and realiable as possible.

Do you want it to have rails so you can add a scope and front grip and other mod cons? This one is nice King Arms M4 RIS Ultra Grade Airsoft Rifle

My current weapons, excluding sidearms:
250uwzr.jpg

4. Scratch built M4 sopmod/stealth styled. Custom gearbox, madbull barrel & madbull ultimate hop. G&P marine metal body, RIS, outer barrel, buffer tube and stock. ACOG scope, M900A flashlight/foregrip. Guarder flip up front & rear sights and guarder silencer. An/peq laser box, li-po battery in stock.

The one on the bottom, number 4 I think, looks awesome!! How much would something like that cost?
