They're not even arguing about the same thing. Pottsey at alia are arguing about whether the armourer was comfortable loading blanks (she wasn't at some point in the past, but that doesn't mean she isn't now) and Dis86 is arguing about whether the armourer has had any significant experience in that role (and since everyone arguing with him absolutely refuses to provide any evidence that the armourer has any such experience, I think it's fair to conclude that Dis86 is right and the armourer doesn't have any such experience).
How about we all wait for the investigation to finish?

Haha!Nah let them all get their armchairs in a twist
That depends how you class experience. As per the pod cast she did have 3+ years training by a veteran in the field and shadowed the veteran doing the role on other film sets along with the training. 100% she did not have extensive experience, 100% she is no veteran herself. But she could have had significant experience as 3 years training should be significant. Anyway time to wait for more news to come out. As I have said many times there is a lot of conflicting information in the media with a lot of it not accurate. They're not even arguing about the same thing. I just don't understand how anyone can be handed a gun - prop gun or otherwise - and pull the trigger without first checking whether it's safe. Maybe it's just me because I grew up around guns.
I suppose the only good out of all of this will be stricter controls when using firearms on set. I agree the onus is on the person firing the firearms to ensure there's no live ammunition loaded, but the controls really need to have a person accountable for the safety of all firearms. They should probably be the only person who stores the firearms when not in use, the person who loads the ammunition into the firearms, and be the person who hands the firearm to the actor/actress.
The issue that appears to have happened here is several people having some sort of interaction with the firearm and the ammunition, which makes it harder to hold someone accountable. [..]
So is Baldwin culpable in any way? I would assume that if someone handed you a gun and said it was unloaded you would still be in a certain amout of **** if you then pointed it at someone without checking it yourself and shot them.

The producer title was most likely a vanity title for tax purposes. Whether it carries any legal weight is yet to be seen.If it was a total noob then probably not, but Alec probably has some experience with handling guns and he was also a producer for this movie.
Head armourer can mean only the armourer.3 years training and then straight into the head role?
Seems unusual to me. Unless being an armourer is a lot more simple than I thought.

American law is weird so who knows yet. It won't be murder but maybe some kind of negligence.
I think whoever was supposed to be overseeing safety on set will be the one who gets hammered though.
Head armourer can mean only the armourer.
Also how long do you think you need for training, and whilst training she would probably have been trainee to assistant armourer (also in training effectively) in which case the normal progression is pretty much assistant to full/head,
Shock as accident happens but people online continue to need a finger to point the blame at causing some involved to be forced to go into digital hiding :/
