Alex Jones..

It's a bit like the LGBTQ+ people saying they are suing Youtube for demonitizing their videos.

When people start the ball rolling of censorship more often than not it will come back and bite you.

What are the chances that the people in that video have previously called for Alex Jones to be censored and demonetized? And now they are upset that they themselves are censored and demonitized. They won't get anywhere with Youtube/Google now as the precedent as been set, and as we heard a lot when talking about Alex Jones "its a private company, they can do what they want".

Why have a lot of people today become so short sighted?

It is a private company and they can do what they want, and in doing what they want they don't even need to be consistent. The only short sighted people are those that feel that government should be involving themselves unduly in the affairs of a private company over who it serves.

A comment from the second previous video.
Alex Jones listeners knew all this years ago, we knew about the grooming gangs in GB 10 years before it came out, we knew about deplatforming years before it happend, hell i even get important news about Germany i do not find anywhere at the German MSM. Alex Jones is really a treasure. (also brain force plus works like a charm and changed my life)

Strange thing to be actively making money from when the theoretical concept is to get people to think for themselves and be critical of spoonfed views.

Yet here we are and the store sells vague effect causing product created by/for Alex Jones.

One might suspect the aim is not to get people to think for themselves at all but follow the leader and his opinions.

You a such a confusing person. Youtube, a monopoly, doesn't need to be regulated. "it's a private company, it can do what it wants" is an insane thing to say. Let chemical companies dump chemicals into the water then, it's a private company after all..

I mean that's what your right wing wants, you should be happy, commie.

That’s false, they can’t necessarily do what they want. They perhaps ought to try to have some consistency too lest they end up illegally discriminating against people too.

Just because its a private company doesn't mean its above the law.

What happens when your views are deemed unexceptable and private business puts you on a black list and suddenly you're being refused bank services. You wouldn't be able to survive unless you lived on hand outs from other people giving you stuff. But I'm sure you'd be fine with that, because its a private company.

I don't understand where you come from in your posts. You attack the Tories on threads, and have a dig at right wingers, yet you support capitalism. How is that not right wing?

Does anyone ever shake their heads and roll their eyes reading some peoples views here?

I can't wait to see the fallout of this, all the "progressive" tech companies who bent the knee for these communities now getting attacked by said communities it's glorious

Let alone this which is amusing at all the madness leaving one shaking their head at this crazy desperate seeking world looking for anything to sue.

No more ridiculous than people on here that think pro Trump comments are the work of Russians infiltrating the forums

Do people think that? I’ve always thought it was douche bag apologists for a narcissistic bigot.

He's already addressed this which is now very old news

That must be wonderful for the parents of those children murdered. Sorry I spent years saying you are a crisis actor, that your child wasn’t gunned down in cold blood and sending people to harass you. We’re all good now though right? ;)

It’s a private company offering a service with terms and conditions. If you break those T&C they can deprive you of said service. It isn’t anything like a chemical company dumping chemicals. What a ridiculous analogy to make.

Huh?

It was your opinion that Youtube can do what it wants. Regulating a monopoly is something both moderate left and right wingers should be able to agree on.
Is Youtube a monopoly?

It's operating within the same laws as every other company in the US, including publishers and it's certainly not a monopoly in online video clips, it's just the biggest and one he was used to using in addition to his own site because it cost him nothing to do so and gave him another outlet to spout his nonsense and peddle his wares.

Alex Jones et al spent years skirting and in some case outright flouting Youtube's long established T&C that everyone is meant to abide by, if anything he got quite a good free ride with them until he became so utterly toxic that Youtubes customers (the advertisers) started to make it very clear they did not want their brands to be seen anywhere near him on the platform.

Unless the US government is going to take over paying Youtube's bills, it's not a first ammendment right, as that is something you only have in a public place and no company is forced to pay for your ability to do so.

Exactly, if the Government wants to control something like Youtube by telling them who they can serve, it better ******* pay for it, and ergo the taxpayers.

The internet is a series of private houses (always has been) and they are within their right to tell you to get out when you're costing them money or being a tit. It's deeply contradictory for the free speech people to say that a company can't do what it wants.

Is Youtube a monopoly? Really?

I've got no problem with Youtube wanting to take people off their platform if they are spreading toxic lies like Sandyhook didn't happen. I have a problem with "it's a private company, they can do what they want"

It is a private company, and no matter how many time's you think otherwise, reality is still going to win. If you're going to advocate for regulation, you better be consistent on every other company to also be equally regulated, that includes advertisers being forced to pay for things.

So you think Monopolies shouldn't be regulated?
It is not a monopoly though.

It's not in a position to try and kill attempts to create competition, it's not attempted to do so in the past, and the barrier for entry into the market is really rather low.

I can think of several other video sharing sites that seem to be doing reasonably well, it's just that youtube has a brand name that is easy to remember and has spent the time working with content creators in the past and making itself easy to use for anyone willing to follow its (standard) T&C, and has been around for 10+ years,.

So your child is gunned down and you're worrying about what some random conspiracy guy is saying on Youtube? Clearly if they were offended it's because someone brought it to their attention who wanted to stir up a story. He didn't send anyone to harass the parents come off it.

Why are you pushing the Youtube isn't a monolpoly angle.

It absolutely is...
