On a side note, have they fixed the stuttering issue for the cutscenes yet? I had it on my PS4 version and it drove me nuts. Thankfully the PC version didnt suffer from this.
 
Hi

Just got this game and have downloaded the crew expendable content.

Would like to try playing as ripley or another member of the real crew but is the campaign the same as playing the normal campaign mode?

Haven't played it myself but from what I can gather Crew Expendable is you playing Ripley recreating the second half of the alien film. I think...
 
Only just started and not yet encountered an alien but to me this is one seriously scary game.
Such an imersive atmosphere, with headphones on you can hear every small sound.

I'm on about mission 3 or 4 and have only really encounter an alien twice but these are set piece scripted parts.

To anyone who has played the game, will I randomly encounter an alien the further I get into the game by making noise or are all the alien encounters scripted such as the first 2 encounters in the game?

For instance if I just go off exporting previous areas could I encounter an alien?

The more noise you make, the more likely it is the alien will appear. You can usually hear it scurrying about in the vents which means any noise, footsteps etc will attract it and later in the game it'll just appear when it wants to regardless.

Not encountered it randomly yet but I'm early in the game and I seem to be crouching most of the time but I do hear a lot of rattles and sqealing which I presume is the alien. I might make some noise to see if I can attract it just for fun.!
 
Just finished! What an incredible game, easily a GOTY for me, up there with TLOU imo too.

Such an atmosphere, great graphics and sound, really captured the Alien feel for me.

Will purchase the add ons now, here's hoping for a second game from this team - they could teach some of the others how an Aliens game should be made.

Does the motion tracker use batteries like the flashlight, as I noticed the screen on the tracker flickering a lot as if it was about to run out?

Man the alien is relentless. Now I know what they mean by being the hunted and not the Hunter!! :eek:

I still screw up hiding in lockers I hold back stick and press l2 to hold breath and the alien still kills me 85% of the time, maybe I'm doing it to early, should I do it when prompted?

I could be wrong here but you might be releasing your breath too early, hold it longer than you need to. I always used to get caught when I stopped holding my breath as it walks away, just keep holding it even though it sounds like Ripley is suffocating.

I always found the underside of tables a better hiding place than lockers. I've never been caught under tables on hard mode, but not every table is a valid hiding spot.
 
Playing this too. So far so great. Not too far in though but taking my time. The music and sound in general are impressive. Tension is building!
