Molotovs may work. I never got around to trying them so I don't know how easy they are to use. They sure as hell don't work on joes, so don't even bother trying :p

Molotovs do indeed have the same effect on the Alien as the flamethrower, just don't get too close when you throw it!

Best bet is to save ammo and just hide and creep. I got to the stage on a couple of levels where you can hear the alien thundering up to you from the rear speakers...I just learned to let out a sigh and accept the inevitable death and start again.

Make sure to use the save points though :) I can't remember the last game that ramped up the tension when you're about to save a game, especially when it says 'hostiles near' as you're saving :)

Yeah, especially as it takes so long... 4 beeps at which time you could be pounced on. I shout "COME ON, GODDAMN YOU!" in true Ripley style.

I have just gone under the reactor so I guess if you're on mission 17 you know where I am. And yes, I'm scared :p

Nah I was just joking:D, I'm actually only on mission 6 and died plenty of times! Need to start playing it more as I've started playing bf4 again. I always take ages to complete games.

I've just bought it off the PS store for £20 couldn't be bothered skimming for deals elsewhere. I'll have a bash later myself :)

Wasn't sure about it initially but once you get a feel for it it really becomes something great. I am a massive fan of the original film, too. If you have 5.1 or good headphones use them as the sound is unreal, and the way they use music from the original film score to crank up the tension really impressed me. Best franchise game to date imo. Quite a different move for The Creative Assembly (of Total War fame) but they've put a lot of thought and effort into all of it.

There are 18 missions I think. I am on mission 15. The campaign must be 20+ hours if you want to search around (and you will need to as ammo can be scarce at times).

The synthetics creep me out but the xenos and facehuggers creep me out more!
