Aliens : Colonial Marines - FPS ( They're back ! )

if you like avp just buy Aliens vs Predator (AVP) its 3 pound and is a lot better in every way.

they wont fix this . they wont patch it to anything its just bad.
 
Wont judge the game on the fact that i havent played it. Just watched the demo vid to what we have now and hand on heart i am disapointed. Been waiting for ages but something didnt seem quite right so held off pre-ordering. Am i gald that i didnt pre-order yes, Im just more disapointed that it seems such a waste on such a good franchise.

Will buy the game when it gets cheaper and comment then but on launch i'm not convinced to pay the price of admission.
 
I'm going to watch Alien and Aliens at the weekend instead of buying this... Got the Blu Ray box set and I'll be pumping my 5.1 right up loud with the lights out! :D

Pretty much sums up my feelings on it. Its not appalling, its not great either, just...meh! Its worth a play through, but only for aliens fans.

Had quite a good time on multiplayer last night, Escape mode is very much L4D, but not as good, survival feels a bit like the objective-based multiplayer in Wolfenstein

Glad I got it for £20 and not any more, would say to anyone considering it not to spend more than a tenner.

The issue I have with ACM isn't that it's poorly designed or the graphical quality. It's the fact Gearbox opening lied about the game and basically falsified the entire demo shown at E3 in 2011 and 2012.

That on top of the fact they are charging AAA prices for the game when the game is worth 1/2 that figure at best.

Had it only been £20 to buy then maybe they could be forgiven for some of their mistakes.

Quite agree when i saw the demo, i thought about time its getting the attention it deserves, but once gameplay vids started coming out i had reservations.

Lol im prob only really gutted because it supported windows XP. im so lazy when it comes to upgrading. Missed out on a few games this year now.

No im gutted because my heart wants the game and my brain is giving it a bitch slap
 
One day... someone will make an Aliens game worthy of the Franchise... one day...

Installed it and boy is it bad! But at the same time, quite fun! :D :p

Sweetfx makes such a huge difference.

The graphics aren't too bad.........some textures are the worse that I have ever seen though, but the sounds are awesome, lighting and shadows are pretty good, dead space 3, portal 2 etc. are much better in this area though. Also you have non existent face animation.

Performance wise, very rarely drops below 60fps. i5 750, 7850 2GB OC, 8GB RAM everything on max @1080p

The FOV is dreadful even with the bar way to the right (as shown in pics).

Buggy as anything regarding the animations, aliens popping through walls, getting stuck etc.

Game is definitely not worth any more than £10, however, due to the constant lies and showing of a "gameplay" video that was far better years ago, the game isn't worth a single penny then. The marine missions in AVP 2010 were far better.

No 3d, that is the way it is and yes it is bad, however, it isn't distracting during the game, in fact you don't really notice it at all but yeah trying to make out the ammo count etc. is difficult :/
