Alienware announces the AW2725DF and AW3225QF (worlds first 4k 240hz and worlds first 1440p 360hz QD-OLED monitors - launches January 2024)

My AW3225QF is completely dead. No power.

I’ve swapped power cables but it’s made no difference. FFS

EDIT: I tried @FTRUFC’s suggestion of leaving it unplugged for 10 seconds and it turned on.
Probably worth getting a replacement to be on the safe side, even if it worked with 10s unplug fix?

Well it turned on, but now it’s stuck in a loop. It tries to run the pixel refresh, but then the screen turns on and says “The pixel refresh process did not finish. Press yes to turn screen off and resume” or something, but it just loops over and over.

I wasn’t at home yesterday so I didn’t use it, but it was absolutely fine on Wednesday.

EDIT: Dell are replacing it :(

I sacked mine off after it did the same. Got a Gigabyte Aorus FO32U2P now

Hope it works out better for you. Unfortunately I can’t do the same because I’m well past the return period.

It’s not confidence inspiring when I think my Dell U2713HM is still going strong after ~12 years.

Dell are genuinely fantastic at following through on their warranty - so even if you’re outside the return window and the replacement then have the same issue you’ll have a good chance of being able to get a full refund.

Speaking from experience here, it’s one of the reasons why Dell are so good to buy from if things do go a bit Pete Tong.

Mine says 1010 nits after calibration, did you switch of Dolby Vision ?

Yes Dolby is off.

If I rerun the hdr calibration tool will it replace the current profile or create two?

Not sure what could have gone wrong. I mean the HDR calibration tool isn't exactly the most scientifically accurate tool.

Is this relevant all.

Do a search for 460 on this page and you find this:

Brightness in the HDR mode is effectively identical to other QD-OLEDs. Full screen white hits 248 nits, 10% window brightness is 460 nits, and 2% window brightness reaches 1002 nits. We've seen this sort of performance before, no difference to other 4K QD-OLEDs we've tested so far.

I only use HDR when Gaming it makes no sense to have it on all the time in windows. something is a miss.
I can't be bothered to turn it on and off. This pc is only for games so I leave it on all the time.

Am I meant to run the calibration tool with HDR turned off then? Maybe that's what I did wrong.
