Alienware announces the AW2725DF and AW3225QF (worlds first 4k 240hz and worlds first 1440p 360hz QD-OLED monitors - launches January 2024)

guys, are any of you using a screensaver? or you just turning off the monitor when not using it? if i opt for screensaver, shall i use solid black? or there is no need for all of that?
I just have it set so my screen turns off after 2 minutes, no screensaver for me. It's one of the windows settings under 'Power'.
I turn it off, should I do a panel refresh after I'm done gaming?
It will automatically do a pixel refresh for you. When you turn the screen off, you'll notice the button goes green (or yellow? idk I'm mega colourblind) and flashes for 4/5 minutes which means it's running a pixel refresh.

You can do it manually - but it seems to be set up to handle it all automatically.

I use a solid black screensaver after 5 minutes, but that's only because there's something a bit odd in my setup that means if the screen actually goes to sleep it hangs the desktop for a good 30 seconds on resume. I'm sure its fixable but I'm just working around it at the moment.

I have my wallpaper set to change every minute or two and I have a screensaver set to turn on after a couple of minutes.

As for the pixel refresh, as already said if the screens needs it it will automatically run the refresh when you turn it off. The power led will flash screen when it'd running. You can run it yourself, it recommends to run it every 4 hours. There will be a yellow indicator in the interface if its been over 4 hours :-)

I'm not doing anything really other than my monitor turning off as usual after 5 minutes of not being used  Just using it normally, split windows on the desktop etc. Pixel refresh happens regularly enough for me not to worry and the 3 year warranty is always there. I feel like if I start to worry about how I use it it'll take all the enjoyment out of it.

I must say having HDR 1000 configured now it's soooooo good, loving how everything looks. I don't think I could consider anything non-OLED again.

I have a created a shortcut to the blank screensaver on my desktop, set Ctrl + Alt + S to it so I could enable it using a keyboard shortcut then hid it so it doesn't show on the desktop. However, I have found that it is easier and more reliable, since the screen won't just come back on when a Windows task kicks in and stay on, to just turn off the screen when I leave the room. This also enables the pixel refresher to do its thing, which takes around 5 minutes, while I am out of the room. I have also set the Game 2 SDR mode with a 25% Brightness for the one day a month I work from home for 5 hours. I switch back to Standard once done.

I accept that I am probably been overcautious but screen burn in *will* happen eventually on these screens as these are organic and wear and tear is accumulative. It could be years down the line with varied use but if I can prolong the life of the screen by being careful with it then why not. The monitor may have a three year burn in warranty but the chances are that the burn in will occur after the warranty has expired!

I've had the AW2725DF in my basket for the past week and I think I'm about to pull the trigger. How are you guys finding it? Will I notice a massive step up from my 2716DG TN panel?

Aside from res/clarity, noticing many other improvements over the DWF?
I noticed while playing Alan wake 2 the flicker that my DWF had in certain areas was less apparent more stable on the 32", also yellow and red colours seem to stand out and pop a lot more, motion has improved also over the DWF.
