Alienware announces the AW2725DF and AW3225QF (worlds first 4k 240hz and worlds first 1440p 360hz QD-OLED monitors - launches January 2024)

I have the AW3225QF arriving on Monday, very much looking forward to it. I am looking forward to experiencing 4K and giving my 4090 more of a workout.

I now need to sell my AW3423DWF. It's been a great monitor over the past couple of years and I have had no issues or burn in on it at all. Hoping the QD-OLED experience with the AW3225QF will be as good.

Really tempted to swap from the AW2725DF to the AW3225QF, particularly as I've just got the PS5 Pro and it genuinely seems to be fantastic at 4k.

Part of me is still hanging onto my competitive itch and 27" being perfect for that - but then I also think I could always run a custom 1080p res scaled to 24/25" on the AW3225QF and use that for any FPS games...

Went to use my old 34" DW on another machine for the first time in months and well 34" uwa feels way too small now lol, it's the lack of height that makes it feel tiny compared to 32" 16:9.

Ok so the good news is the vrr flicker doesn't seem to be present in all games.

Currently playing GOW Ragnarok with gsync enabled and an unlocked frame rate and there is no vrr flicker present.

I think it's because the frame rate is quite stable so there isn't much fluctuation.

It's all down to bad frametimes in many games these days if they're not games with dark grey scenes like silent hill 2 etc.

I'll finally be jumping on this bandwagon (32" one) later this month (Once I know how much I'm gonna get reemed for 2 cars servicing and MOT). Do we know how long the offer is on for?

Will be replacing my 49" Samsung Odyssey.

Not sure how long the offer will be on for but they always put an offer on once every couple of months or so

Hi everyone, I’ve had my QF for a day now, having moved from a DW. On my DW, I would enable the ‘HDR Peak 1000’ mode before gaming. I am doing the same with the QF, however there are also Dolby Vision modes on this display that the DW didn’t have. What is the best one to use? Also should Smart HDR be left on when not gaming?

Finally, when the monitor is in ‘HDR Peak 1000’ mode. The available colour profile in Windows is ‘HDR True Black 400’. However when in standard mode, I have three available profiles: DCI-P3, sRGB and D6500. Which is the best profile to use in standard mode?

I have enabled G-SYNC for the HDR Peak 1000 profile in NVIDIA CP and set the refresh rate in Windows to 239.99 Hz. Can’t believe it defaults to 60 Hz!

Just trying to get my head around the best modes to use for what. The main game I play is Flight Simulator 2020, this has HDR 10 support and it’s enabled.

At first I was missing the ultrawide, however I am now getting used to the extra vertical space and higher resolution. It really is a beautiful monitor.

Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks.

Does anyone else's 32" monitor creak? It seems might creaks and groans as it warms up and also when it cools down, slightly irritating but not sure if I'm being overly sensitive...

I'm planning on pulling the trigger on th esame monitor any second now.

From what I read True blacks is the best HDR mode and dolby vision set to bright suits most people.
For the colour profile question maybe see this review and note the monitor they received had been calibrated to different gamma levels than the monitor was set to

Every monitor I ever had creaked basically, the cheaper ones more so.. I had a crappy benzq one where the slightest desk movement made it creak..
you have the AW3225QF ? I read it gets super warm so the plastic surtound is probably expanding and creaing as it warms and again as it cools down.

Surely if you get a monitor with dead pixels you send it back straight away ?

I’m still too terrified to get OLED due to my iMac 5k developing brutal levels of burn in several years back.

Honestly you'll be fine with modern OLEDs. They all have such good burn in prevention features now and the Dell lineup of Alienware models all have a 3 year warranty so even if it does happen you can send it back and they'll do a swap.

@mrk went through 14 ultrawide AW OLEDs this way and they just kept sending them out.
