alienware AW3418DW Availability in the UK?

This thing is a beast! But did they really have to use a box that big ? To be fair they packed it amazingly well and easy to get into and assemble, but that box size is nuts.

Used settings and profile and the screen is a thing of beauty. The biggest change I can see is that this monitor seems more sharper than my PG348Q. I have absolutely zero back light bleed, this is a result!! No dead pixels either.

Now the monitor is nice, dont get me wrong, but comparing it to the PG348Q on the looks department, the AW3418DW is fugly, really fugly.

Very happy with my purchase.

Can I ask, what made you change from the Asus to the Dell?

Great!! I'm hoping that mine will be from the same batch!

I sold my Alienware to a friend a few months back and he's messaged me today because half his screen has 'snow' on it now. Flickering pixels even if unplug the display port cable. Anyone come across this before I can't find anyone posting about similar issues:/

Sent me a video clip it's literally half the screen, bizarre

Guys who have ordered this screen through Dell, a quick question:

How did the payment work for you? Was it taken on point of order, or just before delivery?

When I first ordered I had the money as a "pending transaction" in my account, but that has now vanished. Hoping this won't delay the (already ridiculously long) delivery time!

Just looked and mines the same, order is still showing by tracking. I wonder if there's a time limit on pending transactions?

Well that offers some reassurance, but I've contacted Dell and not had any response.

I'm feeling that impatient feeling :| Can I wait, or do I drop an extra £150 or so and go pick one up this afternoon?! New build system is itching for a nice new screen!

Well I've had my monitor for a good few days now, still no payment been taken

*edit* actually 1 week since they said payment was taken, but still nothing out my account.

I'd say wait and save that £150 for games / drinks or w/e.

Think of all that Duff-Beer you'll be able to buy with that ££!! :D

Heh, I wish :D

Funny story actually... My impatience got the better of me, and I ordered one on Friday. Went to collect it in my car (~40 min drive). On the way I was involved in a car crash. My first ever. My fault. Nobody hurt, <10mph in traffic, but still. I took it as a sign from the Universe. Cancelled the order - I'm waiting for my Dell. Insurance excess will exceed the £150 extra I was going to "waste" on being impatient, plus premiums going up. But still. Lesson learned. Expensive lesson, but well learned.

What did people say to warrant a discount on the monitor? I was going to go with the shipping times, 6+ weeks on the website.

I started with a price comparison to the Acer equivalent that got them down to £935 then just asked about the cost of warranty extentions once they told me the price for the 5 year warranty I asked them to include it if I paid now 30 seconds later they agreed. Amazingly simple really
