I've read some talk that Arsenal aren't too concerned about replacing him and that they already have replacements. The problem I see in selling Walcott is where is he going to go? There was talk that Chelsea were in for him earlier in the window but given who they've signed, I can't see that still being the case. Other than that, the only club that's been linked and I could imagine being after him is Liverpool but as above, I can't see us being able to better the offer Arsenal have given him.

There's some stuff about Man City giving up on Sinclair and wanting Walcott instead but I can only find that on various blogs. Nowhere credible.

What?

Manchester United signed one of the most promising young players in the world (Kagawawawa) and the Leagues top goal scorer?

Plus another promising young player, oh and that left back?

Bloody 'woe is us' Manchester United fans because they don't get everything they wanted.

I cannot believe he's said that and he's absolutely retarded.

All you need is a deep lying play maker and you'll have a quality side (still do really), it's like Fergie is adverse to buying Center Mids these days.

there is a tad of 'woe is me' about this, as Tummy says.

i think what Tom84 is getting at, is that a cm should've been a priority for united, they have £15m, dembele would have been ideal? it's a bit bonkers if he does come to spurs if one looks at that.

there's nothing concrete yet but it's looking likely that it's a deal. maybe we have used a bit part player as a makeweight or levy has still got a good relationship with jol. though i'm assuming jol would have had little say anway.

Just reading Jeremy Wilson's (from the Telegraph) tweets - he's saying that Liverpool are the only side to have made an inquiry for him but that City are interested too, Arsenal hope that Walcott will change his mind but are open to offers if he doesn't and that Arsenal don't feel that they'll need to replace him if he does go.

Has anyone thought, you know, that perhaps a club doesn't actually want to purchase a player no matter how much it's fans whine and act like kids about it?

You don't agree then that a central midfielder would have been more valuable to us than another striker and a 'in the hole' player then?

RVP is a great addition but come on its papering over the cracks somewhat

No. Fans know right. Sack Fergie. Appoint Tom and NickG :p

Seriously, maybe, just maybe, Fergie is putting faith in the midfielders they already have.

You said that Liverpool and Spurs have done better business.

Manchester United have signed fantastic young prospects along with other more experienced players and young players with experience ie. Kagawa.

I look forward to seeing what Nick Powell can add to the club and hope to see him getting in some sub appearances as he's looked quite handy in pre season too.

I'm happy with our transfer dealings and I hope that our central midfielders stay injury free (Clev especially) and show that the need for a player that puts in hard challenges a la Scott Parker is not what our team needs.

We need to hold onto Nani and the team needs to stay injury free and gel as a unit.

Liverpool and Spurs haven't done better business than us in this window and it's ridiculous to say so just because they've signed a Central Midfielder that people seem so insistent to cry out for.

Fergie probably thinks Carrick + Cleverley/Scholes will do for this season, and it probably will.

Carrick, Cleverley and Scholes I have no problem with (providing there's guarantees all 3 can stay fit all season and be available for every game) but there's faith and then there's blind faith and the likes of Anderson fall under the latter imo

If our midfield can stay injury free and fit then there isn't this incredible problem that people make out.

Last season we were hit with injury after injury, a big blow in losing such an experienced player in Fletcher, Clev missing a lot of the season after the Bolton match etc.

You cannot sign endless amounts of players 'just in case' someone gets injured or whatever, when they are all fit there then it would become madness.

Unless Fulham pull off 2-4 top quality signings...we might be in some trouble this season with Dempsey going and Dembele gone.

It's hard to believe isn't it?

EDIT: Just to add, I quite like Fulham and it's a shame to see them lose two of their best players.

Still no offers for Dempsey.. I'd still MUCH rather him gone than Dembele. Dempsey still refusing to play, train or talk to Jol.
