One saving grace with this years transfer window deadline is with it being on a Friday night hopefully most of the deals we get tied up before the last minute. Next year even better it should be on a Saturday when most managers will have a game to be at.

Bit surprised Spurs weren't in for Berbatov.

Berbatov wasn't actually that fantastic at holding the ball up and playing others in when he was tried to use as a lone striker by Fergie with wingers and midfielders playing in and around him, it didn't work.

He didn't gel with the club and it didn't work out, quite simple.

But there's no point me posting this as DM has his favourites and you can't argue with those ;)

I said when the transfer was first talked about it wouldn't work out and he wasn't what United needed, and it has turned out to be very disappointing.

What ever merits and abilities he has as a player, he was never going to be suited to United.

Hugo Lloris deal has collapsed apparently.

A statement on the Lyon website says Spurs won't pay what they want?

http://www.olweb.fr/fr/Accueil/100007/Article/60200/Communique

A fee was agreed on the 26th, in the meantime we have apparently agreed terms with Lloris, Levy has now appeared to have moved the goalposts and gone back and told Lyon we want him for less, which obviously they aren't to pleased with. I think it will go through tomorrow, just more Levy Brinkmanship to save penny or two.

Bit gutted we didn't get him back :p

We really need a forward tomorrow or we are ****** come the ACON. Hope we have a busy day tomorrow but we will sign no one I bet.

Senegal have been consistently crap in the ACON and Ivory Coast all but dominate it, they have the final qualifying against each other. It would be insanely unlikely Ivory Coast won't win comfortably so its likely you'll lose Tiote and neither of your strikers for the ACON.

As for being gutted, there are much better strikers out there who will be on a significantly lower wage and cost significantly less to buy... why anyone wants Carroll with better options around I really don't know.

Should really have gone for Berbatov... he would have cost maybe up to 8mil, and he's supposedly on half the wage at Fulham that Carroll is on at the moment. Why everyone in the league wasn't in for Berbatov I really don't know.

Isn't that the second time you've posted that today?

Surprised if they do let De Jong leave as I would have thought he's arguably the best holding midfielder they have.

Then again, if the 3-5-2 comes to fruition arguably he doesn't have a role as it would be Y.Toure, Nasri and Silva in midfield.

Gaston Ramirez has signed for Southampton (from @tancredipalmeri).

Over 300 "different" people on twitter have reported that, another few hundred have said its off...

Because it seems just such a mad transfer I wont believe it till it is on the official site with him grinning holding the no.10 shirt! (which isn't just yet)

That chap is usually spot on though, I'd say it's extremely likely!

QPR really don't hang around!

QPR FC ‏@OfficialQPR

#QPR are delighted to confirm the signing of Real Madrid ace Esteban Granero on a four-year deal. #QPR

Hughes - He is a great player, first and foremost. You don’t play at a club like Real Madrid if you’re not. He has got great energy and is technically very gifted, as you would expect from a Real Madrid player. He is an all-round excellent midfielder. #QPR

Granero - I love the passion of the English fans and from what I know QPR supporters are amongst the very best. When I spoke to Mark and Mike, as well as Tony I was convinced that I wanted to be part of this project, which has no limits.

No limits... going up... only down! :D

Yeah every report out there has been overall it's going to happen. A part of me is grinning like that kid who gets a nintendo 64 for christmas :D

Little bit of me knows though not to jump about till its official official.

Michael Essien news:

Arsenal interested in loan, but the rumour appears to have come from twitter so take with however many grains of salt you feel necessary. Story was picked up by the Mail and the Telegraph.

Everton also trying to take Essien on loan, reported by the Mail. No agreement reached with Chelsea and Everton may instead try to get Steven N'Zonzi from Blackburn.

I would take a loan with a right to buy. Wouldn't want to get him fit only to give him back to Chelsea. Decent player, appalling injury record, so would fit right in at Arsenal. Could very well be the engine who sits back, mops up and wins us games.

Except for the fact he's been beyond terrible for the past 3 years, he deserves red's in half the games he plays, not like song for persistant crap fouling but for pretty ruddy awful tackles.

Absolutely not welcome at Arsenal, violent, crap defensively/offensively for a good few years, big wage, no sell on value. He's being shipped out of Chelsea as they've had 2-3 years of him barely playing and being horrific when he does, they want to offload the wages they don't want to get him fit or good, just stop wasting money on him. If we or frankly anyone else get him they'll be doing nothing except peeing money down the drain and helping Chelsea to not do the same thing.

Twitter rife with rumours that we have bid 55m for Pedro. All day today some "ITK" have been posting on the City forum saying Soriano is going to do his first act of business with a player from Barca and the deal will be worth up to 100m euros.

Will be quite surreal if it happens.

Nastasic, Sinclair, Wright and Maicon I reckon will be done tomorrow. Bid in place for Garcia also as DDR gets further away.

Jol has said he wants 2-3 more on top of Berba/Richardson. Be interesting to see what happens. I reckon when Dempsey goes it'll be in a part exchange (hopefully). At this rate I'd take £5m + Adam from Liverpool.

Any truth in the Times reporter saying Liverpool tried to get Dempsey involving Henderson as makeweight, but he refused to be a part of it?

Pedro for 55m? You can have Dempsey for 25m if you want....bargain.

I wish Levy would go in for Lindegaard. £5m should do it and we could ***** the rest on Mountinho or whoever else we are courting.

Lindegaard is quality and would easily play first choice.
