He is on about 80k a week atm and we offered him apparently 120-130k.

He has turned it down and gone to AC for a reported 50k a week.

So wages aren't a factor.

I pray Marwood has a deal in place for someone to replace him.

Andy Carroll to West Ham it seems, allegedly in London for a medical.

Some sources saying 3m with no commitment to buy at end, others 3m plus 17m if West Ham stay up.

Let's see what Brendan has up his sleeve.

i read about that in today's telegraph. rodgers frustrated at having insufficent funds to go for the signings he wants (pretty sure liverpool have signed atleast 4 players though?) and i don't see how this will help them out. i mean, west ham staying up? lolz

It would be a surprise if we've agreed to loan Carroll without the commitment from West Ham's part to sign him next summer. I'd hope/expect that we'll bring in another striker if Carroll leaves - can't see us being in a position to bid £10m+ for Walcott as was being reported last night, if it's just a straight loan (even with a loan fee) for Carroll.

Carroll to Newcastle.

Sisters boyfriend is an insurance broker and hes done a quote today to transfer his policy from Liverpool's to Newcastle. Doesn't mean he is going but Newcastle have asked the price for his policy so they are clearly wanting to come back in for him tomorrow.

He wouldn't lie to me so you can believe me or not.

Thought BR had ruled a loan out at the beginning of his tenure. His statements then make the deal today even more bizarre. £1 million to use a £35,000,000 for a season. Crazy.

Oh boy... :D

How much we paid for him makes no difference to how valuable he is to Rodgers. Carroll clearly doesn't fit into Rodgers plans so it's just a case of getting the best possible deal for him - whether that be a sale now for whatever we can get or a loan, hoping to protect his value and a sale next summer (I'm not a big fan of the latter).

The only reason why you'd keep Carroll would be if you can't get a replacement but I'd imagine if Carroll goes, somebody will come in.

 you have seen him play?!?! I'v only seen a few shoddy youtube videos and am not getting too excited until I have seen some proper football from him (after De Ridder being a massive let down I'm trying to be more sensible).

A LB is the next priority as Shaw was useless defending on Tuesday, good going forward just not an amazing defender...

:o oops I meant on TV for the national side. It's difficult to say how he'll fair in the Prem but he does seem a step up from our current CBs.

Shame that De Ridder turned out to be useless because those youtube videos made him look immense. Lesson learnt there for me.

Ramirez, a CB and a LB would be ideal but I'd make do with Ramirez and LB.

My mate's a cabbie and stopped at a fish and chip shop and got talking to a doctor, he spoke to a mate and said Babel is having a medical at Fulham.

:p

Ahhhhhh fair enough. He sounds like he's a step up which is what we need, there's a good video floating about of him scoring a quality goal against Ajax which is a good laugh :D

Apparently Steve has been told he can leave too, which doesn't surprise me as he was being constantly shouted at against Ajax and really didn't seem good.

Ramirez might just happen! Agreed a LB would be nice too, everything else would be a bit of a luxury.

Looks like we are close to signing Lloris. Brads run of 10 billion consecutive premier league games is looking like it is gonna come to an end. Could be a good signing but he may have a touch of De Gae (who is now quality) for the 1st half of the season as he looks a bit lightweight.

Didn't Rodgers say Carroll would be in his plans a couple of weeks a go... That lad must have zero confidence at Liverpool, least he'll see plenty of the ball with Big Sam's tactics.
