Yes.

Well, VdV is apparently being linked with Schalke, as he'll get more game time, and will be closer to his wife. That means Spurs will be a player light, so could (:p) highjack the Kagawa deal.

It wasn't particularly funny to begin with... more of a, 'heh'... but now I've explained it... :o

Ah okay, well there's zero chance of that happening! :p

All the above baring in mind Utd are waving good bye to (or have in the last 12 months) PIG, Berba, Owen, Pogba, Morrison & De Laet for definite with question marks over Fryers (has he re-signed yet?), Anderson, Park and potentially Fletcher due to illness.

I can't see Anderson or Park going anywhere, and if there is the slightest hope Fletcher will play again then I think Fergie will give him time. The rest though are very likely to go.

Kagawa plus another midfielder would be good but I can't see it, a left back we do definitely need though.

Who can blame him for that, what a babe.

Journalist from the Times has said Lambert has apparently walked away from Norwich after they turned down an approach from Villa.

If he has resigned does that mean we(Norwich) get no compensation from him going to Villa? I do really wonder how some of the almighty idiots at senior roles within the club managed to get there, it clearly wasn't because of good decisions. First there was the issue of calling the police in when a fan legally found the new kit and shared it, and now they try to force Lambert to stay at the club by not allowing him to talk to other clubs despite it being common knowledge that he is very opportunistic(look at how he left Colchester when his team thrashed Norwich 7-1 on the first day of the league 1 season..)

I can see Norwich going down this season, lots of discontent within the team due to one defender allegedly filling the John Terry off the pitch role(I.e sleeping with a team-mates wife), Holt wants to leave and it was Lambert that turned some very mediocre players into a good side, however without him I suspect we will just be a very mediocre team. :(

Do you both mean a midfielder in addition to Kagawa? As in a solid, tackling defensive-esque midfielder to Kagawa's creative midfielder?

I don't think it matters how much money Fergie has, if he doesn't think there's value in the market he won't sign anyone for the sake of signing them, to appease the fans or to spend what transfer budget he has. He's said this before hasn't he? When we've not signed many players over a summer.

It doesn't need to be a destroyer or anything but yes, someone with energy and a decent mix of tackling, passing and preferably a decent shot on him would be ideal.

To be honest any kind of central midfield specialist would do. That's why I'd be jealous if Arsenal got M'vila and we didn't sign anyone similar.

That can surely only have increased with the signing of Torres, and presumably increase again when they sign Hazard. Also, according to the article City spent 114% of their income on wages! I fail to see how Chelsea and City are going to abide by the FFP rules if they continue this way.

What rules, what will happen. I read something in a paper recently where they said nothing was concrete??

The big clubs will break it and **** all will be done. Look at the way Real and Barca have been financed, you really think they will kick anyone out? They have worked hard to create a competition that makes international football look like sunday league, you think they have the balls to blow that by omitting teams?

Not a chance, which is why no one is caring about this FFP other than this forum.

Clyne was linked earlier in the summer, but that has gone quiet for some time

Because he's over rated ;)

Usual young + quick = next best English player, but his positional play was appalling (for someone to be rated as he was I was expecting more both times we played palace) plus he's very small and gets dominated by larger players in physical contests and in the air.

Could still be good but needs a lot more game time, which he won't get moving to united (it'd be very much like that kid Arsenal bought of Charlton last season at RB who got a few games till everyone noticed he wasn't anywhere near good enough)

Given Park's age (31 I think) and the fact he didnt get much playing time last season, it wouldnt be that surprising to see him go (although from what he has said in the past he doesnt want to leave)

Anderson is a more difficult one to call - but given the many scrapes he has gotten into off the field, his general fitness issues along with how much longer can Utd afford to give him before he becomes the consistant player Utd need.....plus Im not sure how much longer he has on his current contract (I certainly cant see Utd giving him a long extention given the quality of his displays/how long he has been at the club).

Fletcher situation is impossible to call - I wish him the best of luck whatever happens.

I woul be very surprised if Fergie goes into next season with only Rooney on the books as an experienced striker (gern how young both Welbeck and Chicharito are)

To be honest any kind of central midfield specialist would do. That's why I'd be jealous if Arsenal got M'vila and we didn't sign anyone similar.

+1

Well possbly ;)

Utd are currently doing well for British players, but I still wouldnt mind a few more (especially given Giggs and Scholes are probably coming up to their final season, and Rio probably isnt too far behind).

I reckon the big spenders have been in contact with each other and have made an agreement to carry on regardless and just keep on spending. Like you say If one team broke the rules significantly then perhaps they would expell them from CL, but if 5 or so do, they will do nothing, bar a slap on the wrist.

nice to see your obsession with spurs continues.

are your team in the cl btw?

You reckon that they would take the risk. If they did enforce it and 4-5 of the big teams were banned then some smaller teams would get a small fortune in CL payments and the large teams might find themselves in more financial trouble and unable to attract the best players.

I can't see why any team wouldn't be trying their best to adhere.

we were in the cl last year but that didn't help us with hazard did it? even if spurs were in it, they are hardly in it to win it, unless you excluded Spanish and other English entrants anyway.

No

doesnt matter how much £ (to a certain extent) you have to offer in transfers , its wages that make or break deals currently (and club's own wage structures)

No beating having a core of good quality English players in the side (especially those with experience as well).

For all his faults, he has dragged Utd through a lot of tough times since Ronaldo left, Utd need to keep him

edit - Im wondering if this new Chevrolet sponsorship deal will add anything significant to the coffers for this summer (nothing mentioned at all about sums swapping hands)

Sure, providing all of the money went back into the team. Still irks me that we got all that money for Ronaldo then carried on spending as if the transfer never happened.
