Plenty of their stuff is poor, but those two articles seemed reasonably good!

I agree with the 4 reasons one on every point (especially dodging Eden's ego lol), but I dont agree at all on the formation /componant of such

I dont believe Scholes will actually play that many games - very likely the most important, but not that many - Im also not sure Jones will be primary selection for RB either (although not directly related to this transfer)

Also to have Carrick (who rarely goes beyond half way because of instructions) and Scholes (who rarely goes beyond half way because of his age) is severely limitiing the team , and imo why Utd rarely controlled the middle of the park (they both sit VERY deep), and Scholesy (who I really love as a player and how he conducts himself off the pitch) has been badly responsible for some critical interceptions last season , and sme VERY near misses on De Gea's goal.

I'm sure Lukaku had similar feelings this time last year. He thinks differently now.

hulk is 25 not 19 and is/was still waiting for a big move. if it doesn't come now his value and cache will surely fall.

and unlike utd it seems that cheldea have standards. where utd play welbeck or bellion over and over again despite how bad they are chelsea don't need to do this.

i don't think lukaku moved expecting 30 games a season at 19 knowing that drogba , torres and sturridge might be before him in the pecking order.

from some of his comments it does make you wonder what was discussed before he signed, complaining he's not getting first team football but surely that would have been explained to him

not sure if he was even on the bench very much either ?

think it's gone from him being a big fish in a small pond to a small fish in a big pond and its come as a bit of a shock.

Even more reason for waiting to find out who the manager is and if he wants you. He's coming into the peak of his career and could end up like Torres, sat on the bench.

Hazard claimed his decision was based on playing time and the position he'd be used, yet he's joined a club without knowing who the manager is. Who did he get those assurances from, John Terry?

Yeah, I found that very odd as well, which is why I think money was more involved.

Though I suppose he could have quite easily got assurances from Abramovich, he may have said whoever is the manager will have no choice but to play him.

Some rumour that Walcott to Liverpool was supposedly a done-deal until Dalglish got sacked. He wants £100k/week to stay at Arsenal - bring back King Kenny :(

lol, and now we know what tipped the americans over the edge on firing KK, he went to meet them, they asked what his plan was for next season, he told them Walcott then they fired him :p

In reality though, is 100k a week plus a what must be 10-15mil fee really a good value for money way of making Downing look better? :p

Mancini has been talking about Van Persie again.

"We will sign a striker if one of our forwards will leave," Mancini told Tuttosport. "We want to keep all of them."

But on the Arsenal striker, the Italian said: "Van Persie is a top class player. His situation is different than the [Gael] Clichy and [Samir] Nasri ones, when we signed them. It was difficult to keep them at London for Wenger.

"It's impossible to sign Cavani at his current price, Van Persie is different."

As at least one of their strikers (Dzeko, Tevez or both) is leaving, it sounds like they'll try and get him at least.

Do players with real self belief and a winning mentality worry too much who the manager is?

The mercenaries don't give a **** if they're being paid, and the genuine competitors who believe in themselves will think they can earn their place for any manager. Once those guys have a chance of silverware then, and maybe the prestige of the club then they're happy enough.

Of course reality doesn't match expectations for many players, and some are just delusional about their status so they do go off the rails when it turns out that they're not the superstar they thought they were (Robinho?)

From Grant Holt on Twitter "I have expressed to the board and the CEO that I want to leave the football club. Due to disagreements". Not sure where he can go where he'll earn more and the team will play around him. West Ham perhaps? We all know Sam Allardyce loves playing long ball football and Holt is almost perfect for that.

of the 2 i can imagine dzeko would be the easier to get rid, but he does add something a bit different to the team, but with there style of play im not sure he fits into it.

I really hope Tevez stays. I'm looking forward to next seasons drama already.

It is quite baffling why Mancini wants to keep Tevez. He is liable to change his mind more regularly that Chelsea change manager. If City have a bad run of luck they could have Aguero injured, Ballotelli suspended or Tevez deciding he wants to play golf in Argentina. I wouldn't fancy their chances if they have to rely on Dzeko for any period of the season. Too many loose cannons in their attack.

Don't look into what Mancini says too much. He isn't going to come out and say yeh Tevez can leave the little **** and Dzeko is just rubbish so he can go as well.

I will be surprised if Tevez is still here next season.

Hadn't he already signed enough dire English players? or is it only a coincidence that the more (overpriced) English players Liverpool have signed the lower they've dropped in the table? :p

Funny seeing people try to find reasons for not joining Chelsea. If Chelsea sign Hulk, then they'll have the best attack in the league.

You don't think it's logical for a player to want to know who the manager is before he signs? How did it work out for Sheva when he was signed by Abramovic with Mourinho not wanting him and similarly for Torres?

As I said, Hazard claimed his decision on his future was based on playing time and what position he'd play. If Chelsea have no manager, who answered those questions for him?

And Torres, Mata, Hazard & Hulk are better than Aguero, RvP, Nasri & Silva?

edit: and to be clear, I'm not being anti-Chelsea. It's a serious point. I made a similar point before AVB was sacked; Chelsea have got players signed by RA, players signed by the club (who knows who is making those decisions) and then players signed/wanted by their manager.
