Funny seeing people try to find reasons for not joining Chelsea. If Chelsea sign Hulk, then they'll have the best attack in the league.
I would rate Silva, Nasri, Dzeko, Tevez, Aguero and Balotelli better than Hulk, Marin, Torres, Mata, Sturridge and Hazard.
Marin and Sturridge really aren't that good and Hazard and Hulk are unproven in this league.

Just read that - interesting, but it could just as easily be "Ive had no contact" in different words (I hope not, I like Dembele from what Ive seen, very useful addition especially at £10m or so)

As I said, Hazard claimed his decision on his future was based on playing time and what position he'd play. If Chelsea have no manager, who answered those questions for him?
.
Being Devil's advocate for second, does it matter who the manager is if he is just a puppet for RA's whim anyway?

(Personally Im with you, its VERY important for a player who the manager is, but maybe Chelsea are a special case with how demanding RA is)

You may have a point, but the Chelsea lot wont cause 1/2 as much bad press and potential for rucus in the dressing room /on the field as Tevez or MB eiither

Im not convinced by Hulk at all (although that could easily come back and bite me lol), Sturridge looks as good as Welbeck to me (which is iffy to say the least but at least they are still young unlike Hulk), and Marin and Hazard look promising but nothing much else can be said about them just yet.

Torres was made promises by RA over his role in the side and he still found himself on the bench.

Its more funny seeing people try to justify why he would go to Chelsea. Admit it, out of the three clubs, Chelsea had the least going for them.

Even with Hulk I would rather have City's Midfield / Forward lineup. Hulk has never looked that great from what I have seen, Torres is still an unknown and Hazard may take a while to get into the swing of things.

If they all play as well as they can then it will indeed be a fearsome line up but we will see.

My mind maybe playing tricks - but this didnt happen straight away did it? I thought he got a reasonably long starting run before being benched?

Initially they tried to force him, Drogba and Anelka into the same side but eventually they began rotating between Drogba and Torres, and ultimately in the biggest games Torres was sat on the bench.

Rumours of Ledley King Retiring

http://www.tottenblog.com/2012/06/king-ledley-to-call-time-on-his-playing.html

It might be that Spurs haven't offered hi an extension.

I won't be too upset if this is true tbh.. Of course i feel for him since i personally feel he never fore filled his real potential but Spurs need some consistency at the back and his week on and off puts tremendous strain and burden on the defence and indeed the selection.

if its true i think this would help spurs, good as he's been it will push them into finding a reliable consistent central defender, considering the problems they had with dawson/gallas last season it will give them a bit of stability.

contract talks opened yesterday and i thought he'd signed up for another year?

maybe he wasn't happy? we should have offered him a 'pay if you're fit' deal tbh. he can play an important role in coaching.

I'll swap Rooney for Messi. :p

Messi is too good for Man utd he's much more of an Arsenal player. Coming from a spurs fan too lol.

Whilst I am supposed to hate Arsenal I only really hate there fans I do wish they had the finesse they used to have with bergkamp/henry.

Sure I'd love to see spurs in with a chance but they need to not trade this summer and try to keep bale and modric :/ VDV will play his career out at spurs I think. Spurs do need some fit players but Harry knows a deal when he sees one so we'll have to see.

This summer Man utd and Arsenal need to strengthen their squads. Arsenal need some experience to mix up with the raw talent in that squad.

Man city need to do little whilst i'd personally love to see joleene fat head lescott replaced he had a good season just becuase I don't like his face doesn't mean he doesn't deserve his spot haha.

Will be interesting to see what chelsea and liverpool do. No idea about the rest but as usual looking forward to the next season xD

You don't think it's logical for a player to want to know who the manager is before he signs? How did it work out for Sheva when he was signed by Abramovic with Mourinho not wanting him and similarly for Torres?

As I said, Hazard claimed his decision on his future was based on playing time and what position he'd play. If Chelsea have no manager, who answered those questions for him?

And Torres, Mata, Hazard & Hulk are better than Aguero, RvP, Nasri & Silva?

edit: and to be clear, I'm not being anti-Chelsea. It's a serious point. I made a similar point before AVB was sacked; Chelsea have got players signed by RA, players signed by the club (who knows who is making those decisions) and then players signed/wanted by their manager.

While I will agree about the players at Chelsea and Man City, City have a reputation for regular rotation and very few players are a certainty to start week in, week out. Chelsea, while still rotating the squad do give some players time in the squad. You could say that by not playing for Man City regularly cost Adam Johnson a place at the Euros. If he has any desire to go to the next World Cup he should really be looking for a move. Liverpool should offer a swap for Downing!
