All Three One Plans to be cancelled from today

My minimum term ends next month on my One Plan. I will be cancelling it and going on the £15 SIMO as that will suit me perfectly, I bought a Nexus 6 when that came out so no longer need to be paying £36 a month which is nice.

Perhaps he works for Three?

What does make me laugh nowadays as an aside, is Three based thier name on 3G and originally thier 'killer app' was video calling :) Surprised they've not changed name yet with 4G all the rage and 3G Video calling now defunct! :D

I'm really not sure what you are saying. Three's services whether 3g+ or 4g still seem to be right up there and the only one who offers unlimited data - try doing non unlimited data with video calling - now that would be funny :)

In terms of three phasing it out - just google it if you are unsure

From what I understand last June/July threes network almost collapsed due to the tethering element of the contracts so yes it will be stopped.

I was talking about the network's name, and the fact that originally it came from 3G and the massive focus/selling point was 3g video calling; almost surprised they've not announced a rename to 'Four' now 3G is old-hat as a selling point/marketing buzz ;)
I'm on Three right now as I highlight above, and am very thankful for the unlimited data!

I called up 3 the other day in regards to my MiFi contract and got told that I have to move over from my One Plan which expired back in June 2014. The customer service rep was adamant that I do so now while he had me on the phone but I stood my ground and told him that unless I get written confirmation that I must move across I'm not going to do so. There may be a chance that I might leave 3 all together if I find a better deal. He had no choice but to agree.

I'm now looking at BT Mobile the 20GB option I know it doesn't have any tethering but it's the best option for me.

I wish BT had a 5GB option. I'm getting really fed up of Three's poor coverage, but 20GB is way more than I need and it's £10/month more than I currently pay for my AYCE One SIM which includes free (limited) roaming and tethering.

Agreed, I've never gone over 4GB. 3's coverage is certainly spotty and the final straw was that I now for some reason can't get data where I work and this was not the case two weeks ago.

I'm tempted to go with EE who do 5GB data on a 12 month contract for £27, £10 more than I currently pay however I vowed to myself never to touch them after I had massive hassle with T Mobile over an additional line.

I called them a few months ago to come off the one plan as my concern was they could change the prices. The plan I am on its now £17 (I pay 15) for 200 mins, silly number texts, unlimited data, 2000 three to three and 4gb tethering unless you use your phone for a lot of calls that is the best deal imho. Though the bt deal doesn't look bad either. I use anything between 1gb and 20gb a month

Sounds like congestion mate. Three have been suffering more and more of it lately, which is a shame as they're the only provider to offer a decent amount of data IMO.

That rings true which is such a shame. I like 3 but lately they have become poor. I was going to stay with them for quite a while but now if this continues I'm out.

It's cause and effect though unfortunately. Unlimited data is always going to attract bottom feeders who abuse the service and bring it to it's knees, its just unsustainable.

Unfortunately I had to move from Three because of this and lack of signal in buildings, I will miss the feel at home but Vodafone only charge £3 per day in Europe or £5 in the US for the same thing which I can expense anyway.

I USUALLY find Three good around Milton Keynes, although I have seen they should be getting new Spectrum and tech later this year to assist with signal and reliability. Hopefully this will help, I can't imagine they aren't aware of the congestion themselves, especially if there is a merge with 02 on the offing.

It may not be congestion it could be directionality, I get between 1 and 6mb at home but 50m away up the road on the same cell I get 39mb whereas I used to get high teens in both locations on h+.

A couple of years ago I read that 3 were going to be doing something different to the other networks when they went 4g it was in conjunction with Samsung engineers and was going to be cheaper is all I can recall.
