Alone in the dark - still on schedule?

Well, tried to read a bit of the review. But I am hesitant to take it too much at face value as they rated the graphics 4, when it is quite easy to see they are not that bad, fot only from screens, but from the videos that have gone around.

Also, no mention of which format they played it on, unless I missed it.

Though I do wish it had been positive, as its now got me considering wiating until there are more opinions available for it, and I really wanted it for the weekend :(
 
I don't think its going to be as bad as 3/10 either. I've read a few previews all of which seemed to be quite promising.
 
I'm starting to get annoyed.

I spend a lot of time on these forums, But first ninja gaiden 2 creeps up on me without realising it was release week, and now this.

What the hell do I read O.O :D

Thanks for that link. Has made me doubt that ealier review even more. If they can rate those graphics as 4, then I think they are full of it.

Though one thing that concerns me is the blinking. I hope its not a constant throughout the game as it happens too often and too slowly from what I saw in that vid. And blinking isn't something people usually have to do consciously.

not a chance imo, for one its an established IP. And for two the developers haven't any experience in the genre.
 
i got this preorderd on pc it was only £17 on amazon...i hope its much better than the last AITD game..graphics look amazing.

The body of the review wont load for me, so i might be talking rubbish, but perhaps they are marks out of 5 and not 10?
 
Anyone played this yet? I got my copy this morning, and although I work from home, I am not prepared to start playing it yet and not work, that would be wrong!

So if you have played it, should I look forward to booting this up? Or not bother, and continue playing MGS4?

Just play it already and let us know! Not like your'e being that productive if you are on here talking about it :)
 
well just got my limited edition here as well. Unfortunately I'm at work so will have to wait to play when I get home tonight.

I unfortunately missed this series back in the 90's but from seeing all the tech demos and trailers I think this will be a great title to compare to games like Bioshock, res evil etc.
 
I don't think the graphics look good at all. The character models look pretty poor in the videos up on the Live marketplace as do the character animations - they just don't seem to sync with the dialog.

It's a shame the (only) review rates it that badly... I would have loved this to be good. But to be honest, I had already decided it looked pretty poor from the last videos :(

Someone posted another review just as I posted... hmmm... 7/10 is better, but I still think I'm going to avoid it.
 
Eurogamer,yup good review, ok it points out some flaws, but everygame has them. I really love the horror survival type game, so really looking forward to this.
 
Oh dear, bout 30 mins in and prob gonna turn it off and never go back to it... its quite poor.

You have to play in 1st person, as the camera in the 3rd person view is useless. Unlike most modern games, where you have full control of the camera in 3rd person, here you can only turn it slightly left and right, and its really hard to walk straight with the thing.

Quite a few fps slow downs, and several bugs (I've fallen through the floor and the roof in 30 mins).

Also, the videos to me made the grapihcs look good, they don;t seem that nice in the flesh... it seems very cheap. Typical Atari actually.

Gonna carry on, but if you haven;t got this yet, I STRONGLY advise a rent first!
