Alone in the dark - still on schedule?

It looks good from your videos!

Yeah I was gonna say it looks good from those videos, but I assure you, it is not good! you try controlling that clunky character/camera and its a completely different story.

Yes, that why I am not playing it anymore. I played it again after my last post above, and it got worse. the camera is really bad, and the main character walks like a robot!

I really cannot see how anyone could possibly like this game, and there seems to be a few on the xbox forums! Not even an Atari developer could like this, surely?

Not played it myself, but I saw a preview of it on that Playr program on tv. I was really looking forward to it until I saw that. Bad camera as you've said, but the thing that struck me most was the animation. When the main character ran, I literally burst out laughing. The worst animation I've seen in a long time, real amateur stuff.

If they can't even get that half way decent, they don't deserve my money.

Theres a lot more screw ups in it! Live electrical wires hurt you, but the next minute you use a live electrical wire to climb a wall! And the character grabs the live end of the wire  So its really confusing, cos the game first tells you that electrical wires are dangerous (which is usually the case) and the next it wants you to climb up a wall using one!?!?!

Also what I find quite funny, is now and then it will do a slow motion effect on key events happening (items exploding, buildings falling etc)... but the slow motion 99% of the time happens about 7 seconds after the actual event has happened :) So you see a car explode, then it goes back to normal and 5 seconds later you get a slow motion effect... wtf!

Really rubbish game.

its not bad at all, ok its a bit clunky, but ive played worse. I think they have tried to pack a lot of cool elements into it and overstretched themselves a bit, to the cost of other parts of the gameplay.

I thought the 1st 30mins were jaw-droppingly good. Amazing graphics and set pieces.

Agree that the controls are very 'clunky' and will reserve judgement on the game as a whole till Ive had a good crack at it this weekend.

I would defintely like to give the game a go if it had a fully controllable camera... not sure how much that will improve it, but it would most certainly help a lot.

Ninja Gaiden and MGS3 got patches to do this, so you never know?

oh lordy :(

Bloody hell... I so wanted to get this on the way home. But the more I hear about it, the less I am inclined to do so.

Its just the sort of thing I have been in the mood for - survival horror game. A change from combat based games, something with interesting puzzles. I could live with sub-par graphics, and maybe slightly clunky controls, but it sound slike the problems run far deeper.

Part of me is still considering trading in bully for it on way home, but perhaps I might just have to get Lego Indy instead. Unless anybosy can recommend any survival horror games which may be readily available on the 360?

Is it me or is the game missing an option to put items away. You can quick select left and right hand items using LB and RB. Is there no way of fast unequiping them? Without going into his jacket and selecting Unequipe everytime?
