Yeah, I mean if you hold left on the right stick, instead of the camera doing a 360 all around the character, it will pivot to the right slightly and stop, and the same in the other direction. BUT this is only if you have control of the camera at all. Sometimes you have no control and it puts the camera in a useless position where your forced to go 1st person.

If I remember correctly, I think the original MGS3 had a similar dodgy camera action, and so did Ninja Gaiden on the xbox... both got updates to allow full control of the camera after.

There are quite a lot of flaws in the game for me, and I won't be playing it again... its quite poor. Some people (according to the xbox forums) seem to like it though?!?! So you may very well like it, to "cheap" feeling for me though.
 
I also got an email from xbox asking me "Are you afraid of the dark"... I am now!

I would say so, I'm a huge survival horror fan also, and was looking forward to this whilst the wait for Resi 5 (and Alan Wake if that ever comes out). But oh well, what can ya do!
 
ahh im going to give it a bash, cameras sposed to be ok in 1st person, apparently it limited in 3rd person to zero in on the action, you can flip perspectives anyway, we will see.

Oh I quite liked condemned 2... wasn't as good as the first, but was still good. a lot better than Alone in the Dark!

Let us know how you get on with the game anyway!

Yes, that why I am not playing it anymore. I played it again after my last post above, and it got worse. the camera is really bad, and the main character walks like a robot!

I really cannot see how anyone could possibly like this game, and there seems to be a few on the xbox forums! Not even an Atari developer could like this, surely?

Atari attacks German videogame site over Alone in the Dark review

According to reports, a German videogame site called 4player published a review of Alone in the Dark and awarded it a score of 68 percent. However, Atari wasn't satisifed with the review and said because it wasn't published on release day, 4player could have used an illegal copy. Moreover, as long as the game is not out, the review is not real and reviews must be informed and this one certainly wasn't. Atari has also cancelled any promotion of the game with the respective site.

Ahhhhhhhhhh crap, my rental copy of this arrives tomorrow along with Top Spin 3. Was rather looking forward to it but from what i'm reading so far. Not good!
