Amanda Knox and her Ex found guilty of the Murder of Medredith Kercher

I do wonder if she'll sue papers after their coverage of the case. It draws some similarities to that landlord in Bristol after Jo Yeates was murdered, he sued for defamation didn't he?

Innocent until proven guilty? But it's pretty hard to prove her innocents anyway, as with a lot of cases.

Of course, in a court of law you are innocent until proven guilty. However, that isn't how things work outside of the justice system.

Definitely above average

If you look carefully, the two women either side of her are average looking, and she is above average.
Hence why anyone actually gives a **** about her going to jail...

She is not only above average, she is actually photogenic. Considering she turns up in Court without make up, she looks better than most of the population.

Looks like the Daily Mail had already made their mind up on which way the appeal was going to go.

I don't want to sound like too much of a tool, as usually I'm the first person to look at women in the press and cry "hot!", but don't you think there are bigger things going on here!?

Or they had both stories ready to run (very normal for news websites to have content like this ready) and someone guess the URL of the GUILTY one from the URL of the story that was actually published.

You talking about the policewoman on the right's boobs? Hmmmm, well spotted that man - it's not all about the face.

They included quotes from people that couldn't possibly have said anything of the sort!

Scum-press through and through, don't defend the indefensible.

I hate to defend the mail but it's obvious common practice to have a placeholder, including for things like quotes. It was never published, it was a template there waiting - I don't see the issue.

It was uploaded to the website and available for all to see, therefor it was published.

Prosecutors were delighted with the verdict and said that 'justice has been done' although they said on a 'human factor it was sad two young people would be spending years in jail'.

That isn't a placeholder.

Also, all good content management systems keep unpublished stuff out of the public domain.

The Guardian has just apologised for jumping the gun and reporting that the conviction had been upheld.

I've just watched the video of the Judge's ruling with a translator commenting - slowly. He caused confusion by starting with Miss Knox's appeal had been rejected - for slander. Most papers will have had two stories prepared and some hit publish a little too quickly.

Harldly surprising. It's was a bit like a far less competent, Italian version of Chris Moyles giving results to competition winners.

Look - it's obvious that the prosecutors would be making a statement so you have the text written ready for the actual quotes when they arrive. If those quotes had been published on a 'live' page (you pedantic people know what I mean) then I could understand the uproar, but this was merely a template.

But yes, I agree the CMS system sucks, or the person who allowed the page to be viewable.
