Amazon Logistics

We are grouped under Croydon, never had a problem with Amazon Logistics. I like the fact I don't have to attempt some sort of useless mark with a stylus to show I have received it, they just ask my name.

And? Just because they're not these people they must be magically better than these people? I'm really not following your logic at all. Fact is you're dredging the lake as to who will accept will accept the tender and scraping the bottom of the barrel to find a driver with who will deliver at these prices, then you'll surely get a service to match.

But as the saying goes, time will tell.

You're not following my logic because you're missing my point.
The first line of your post was 'MyHermes by another name.'

My entire post was correcting you, as they're nothing to do with MyHermes.

I had an Amazon Logistics guy "deliver" a parcel by jumping over my side gate, going round the back of the house, leaving the parcel in a recycling box, opening a locked gate to get out and leaving the gate unlocked!

I contacted Amazon and got 2 copy/paste replies, it was only when I put a post on their Facebook page that they contacted me properly.
Apparently next door refused to accept the parcel, which is rubbish as we always take deliveries for each other.

Seems like a lot of effort for the driver to go through if he could have just dumped it next door and been on his way

I doubt he went next door, just did his free running routine.

But that's what I mean if these guys gets paid next to nothing and therefore want to cram as many deliveries in as possible it's much quicker to walk next door than go jumping fences to deliver it.

Bumping thread a bit but wow what a shambles - seriously considering cancelling Amazon Prime now they no longer use DPD - with Amazon Logistics "next day" has progressively turned into 3-4 days, they've made a right meal of multiple part orders and frequent delivery "attempt" "failed" where blatantly no one has come to the door.

WE have had nothing but problems since they went to Amazon logistics instead of DPD

deliveries 2-3 days late, cards left with the wrong address on for where they left the parcels, customer service who dont know where the driver is or when he will arrive.

They are worse than yodel from the bristol/somerset depot

still have no issue with them at all and same depot then.
also set a safe place on amazon, we don't use green wheelie bin (garden waste) so that's my safe place.

From a quick google looks like the Bristol depot seems to be a big factor here - maybe other depots if your stuff doesn't go through them isn't as bad.

Honestly the service I'm receiving is worse than Yodel and a stark contrast to DPD.

I am Bristol depot.

there must be somewhere you can set up safe area.
all you relay need is something to keep it dry. I live on a busy road with hundreds of people walking by and nothings gone missing. nothing at any other house I've lived at either, which has been many,

could even by any old metal box, print out the instructions like on a purpose built box and just leave padlock unlocked, if you that worried.

Setting up a safe place isn't the problem here - there is always atleast 1-2 people around - I've been in all day lately as I'm on early shifts/doing some working from home.

The problem is the general quality of the service is dire - the one that particularly prompted me to post has all kinds of weird stuff in the transit history like being loaded onto a van twice in the same day, two days in a row and 3 supposed failed delivery attempts in only 2 days and now supposedly they are holding it for 48 hours after yet another failed delivery attempt* - at this point I'm pretty sure the order has been lost.

*In the mean time other deliveries have turned up from Amazon Logistics with varying levels of lateness, etc. but have turned up.

setting up a safe place, ensures they come to you. they can not fake he was out etc.
if someone is always in, then just make a safe place, they always knock first.

I see what you are getting at - but doesn't change the overall quality just reduces the chance of problems with one aspect of it.

I haven't read all the pages here, but around Birmingham the drivers are crap. Out of the last 10 or so deliveries, about 5 have been late by a few days and the rest were 'signed' for by me...in other words my name put in and chucked over a neighbors fence.

I always call and complain. Normally I get my delivery back or more. I also make a formal complaint against the driver which is normally chased up with a letter from amazon to me explaining they have had a talking too.

EDIT: I should also add that one time they put the note through the door as I was actually by the front door painting the hallway. They never even knocked.

Ever since the Xmas rush AL have actually been top rate around here in Brighton, it's nearly a different driver every time so it seems they have hired a lot more.

Not as great as DPD were since they do not offer an ETA but atleast you can ask for it to be left in a safe place.

I've an enclosed porch on a quiet street so often these guys just dump the package in there and run, no problem. If its a really expensive item, and I might not be in, there's an Amazon locker 1 mile from my house in a convenient location. I can also return stuff there too or get it picked up from my house, my choice.

I don't think anyone is going to beat Amazon for logistics anytime soon.

I find using it for collect from a local store or Amazon locker results in an on time delivery.

If a delivery is late a quick web chat has always resulted in a good outcome.

My online shopping is very much swayed to stores who use dpd though.
