I've had adverts at the beginning and middle (ish) of films/programmes. I have cancelled renewal of Prime and will not be paying the extra to remove the ads
I read about this too on another website today.Prime Video subs will soon see ads for Amazon products when they hit pause
Amazon is adding three types of shoppable ads to Prime Video’s ad tier.arstechnica.com

Day said its advertising “load” would “ramp up a little bit more into 2025”.
Day said that Prime Video had deliberately launched earlier this year with a “very light ad load” — for example no ad breaks in the middle of a programme — which had been a “gentle entry into advertising that has exceeded customers expectations in terms of what the ad experience would be like”.
Already happening sadly, think the grand tour special I watched recently had a couple of advert breaks in the middle.Seems like the plan is to introduce into the middle of programmes then.
That's rough. Makes me wonder what the "ramp up" will constitute then. The most recent thing I watched was Clarkson's farm and I didn't get any. The GT Special will probably be the last programme I watch on there.Already happening sadly, think the grand tour special I watched recently had a couple of advert breaks in the middle.
I think it depends on where the ads are placed. I don't mind one at the beginning of a show, but the timing of one in the middle has to be well placed. I would ideally like the advert to come on, where a natural break occurs in the show, e.g. cut to black in a film or even where a network show originally had its break.Seems like the plan is to introduce into the middle of programmes then.
I could just about tolerate a couple at the beginning of a long programme if it was something I really wanted to watch, but the end result has been that I've just stopped watching Prime Video. So this won't make much difference to me, other than ensuring that I definitely won't use it in the future.
Yeah, that has been one of my issues since my YouTube Premium expired. Getting really garish adverts half-way through someone's sentence, or even worse one night when I'd fallen asleep with it on and then an ad came on at the end of the video with some really loud music and woke me up.I think it depends on where the ads are placed. Also, the advert has to be only promoting other shows on Amazon Prime, anything else and I wouldn't use it.
Don't get me started on the volume of adverts. Shakes fist at cloudYeah, that has been one of my issues since my YouTube Premium expired.
