All of the episodes of Fallout and other things I've watched had ads at start and then usually two mid-roll ads at about 30% and 60%. All non-skipable. I don't mind ads at the start, but in the middle it really hacks me off, especially when they do the usual thing of bumping the volume for the ads.

I'm keeping Prime for now as I do use the delivery service a lot. But I won't be bullied into paying to remove the ads, I'll just not bother with the video.

Was tempted to cancel Prime but will keep it for the deliveries for now at least. However, Netflix are abolishing the Basic plan for those who were allowed to stay on it (existing members already on the plan) so will be cancelling that. They're trying to put it across as "saving you money" as it will be going from £7.99 no adverts to £4.99 with adverts. I don't watch enough to pay more and don't want to sit through adverts when I do watch.
I'm surprised it'll actually more profitable for Netflix but apparently will be.

I usually watch Prime stuff at my desk via web browser. With ublock Origin I don’t get ads. I watched an episode of Fallout on my iPad at work and it was so immersion breaking I doubt I’ll watch any other way than via browser with adblocker.

My Prime ended yesterday, won't be renewing, as has been said already on here, adverts at the start aren't the end of the world, but unforgivable in the middle of an episode!

Day said its advertising “load” would “ramp up a little bit more into 2025”.

Day said that Prime Video had deliberately launched earlier this year with a “very light ad load” — for example no ad breaks in the middle of a programme — which had been a “gentle entry into advertising that has exceeded customers expectations in terms of what the ad experience would be like”.

Seems like the plan is to introduce into the middle of programmes then.

I could just about tolerate a couple at the beginning of a long programme if it was something I really wanted to watch, but the end result has been that I've just stopped watching Prime Video. So this won't make much difference to me, other than ensuring that I definitely won't use it in the future.

Already happening sadly, think the grand tour special I watched recently had a couple of advert breaks in the middle.
That's rough. Makes me wonder what the "ramp up" will constitute then. The most recent thing I watched was Clarkson's farm and I didn't get any. The GT Special will probably be the last programme I watch on there.

Every sub service has ads incorporated into their basic tier don't they? I think nowtv is actually worse than prime tbh - although I'm not 100% on netflix as I haven't watched anything on it forn a few months

I think it depends on where the ads are placed. I don't mind one at the beginning of a show, but the timing of one in the middle has to be well placed. I would ideally like the advert to come on, where a natural break occurs in the show, e.g. cut to black in a film or even where a network show originally had its break.
Also, the advert has to be only promoting other shows on Amazon Prime, anything else and I wouldn't use it.

Yeah, that has been one of my issues since my YouTube Premium expired. Getting really garish adverts half-way through someone's sentence, or even worse one night when I'd fallen asleep with it on and then an ad came on at the end of the video with some really loud music and woke me up.

Don't get me started on the volume of adverts. Shakes fist at cloud :D

I've started watching more shows on my PC through the browser with ublock Origin installed. No ads at all. I watched a show recently on Prime on my ipad and was shocked at the ads.

The worst one for me is Disney+ which I get as the ad version through a banking perk. My god, there’s so many ads and so frequently too for 1-1.5mins. It wouldn’t be so bad if it wasn’t the same ad each time. That Marvel/Stan Lee one with the awful Red Hulk bit at the end… argh!

Amazon ones have been fine, by comparison.

Just had a Grand Tour on in the background while working on something else and 20 minutes in, got an advert. In japanese with no subtitles. Useful...
