Amazon Prime - Dont have it then you can wait.

You still got your TV though didn't you? That analogy is flawed, it's more of a case that they served the clubcard guy/s first then you lot. Unless a prime customer took your TV from your order (which I don't see how that can be proved fully).

Not yet i haven't! True i cant prove it was stock related, but your right, its more like having 10 tills for club card owners and one till for "normal" customers, if a supermarket did that people wouldn't be happy.

And where in standard delivery does it say that you will wait over 8 days for an item that is meant to be delivered in 5 or over 2 months for a phone that they sold to prime members with preference for stock.?

Have you contacted their customer service?

So am i missing something? Doesn't pay for next day, doesn't get next day, moans about not getting next day.

That about right?

I have Prime Plus. I get to chose which other Amazon customer I wish to be served before. I only chose people who are nearly named the same as me. This Nokia 3310 is rubbish too, threw it at my new TV that arrived 3 days before I ordered it.

Considering it left the warehouse 4 days ago have you considered it may be lost and contacting Amazon may be the way forward?

just got off amazon customer service,
Item has NOT been shipped at all which is why the tracking wasn't working, They are shipping it today and I should get it tomorrow.

So an in stock item can not be shipped for 8 days and i'm in the wrong for complaining? free shipping with 5 days delivery that is not.

Odds on me getting 2 TVs now?

Ah I see, yes that sucks then. It could very well be that they're favouring prime members in terms of stock. The analogy would then be more like: you pay for the item and get a ticket (to queue up to collect), it's in stock at the time. However the club card members also go pay for the same item after you but they allocate stock to them first (they don't need any tickets!) and by the time it gets to your order being fulfilled, there's nothing left.

Can't tell if that's actually happening though, although it might seem it.

Nope, see above. It seems like prime members are being favoured in terms of stock and allocation of said stock e.g. OP paid for an item which was in stock, however when it came to being shipped out it was out of stock. Yet prime members seemed to have got theirs just fine.

It could be that they're doing it, but it's all anecdotal atm.

Tell you what, I'll trade you my A4 for your R8 and we can call it even.

True enough, strange they gave me shipping and tracking details for something they hadn't shipped though.

I stand by my claim that amazons service has significantly dropped for standard customers though. At least that is how it feels.

Bet there is no haribo in the box as well.

When you went to checkout and it listed your delivery options - with the expected dates next to them. Is it way past the expected delivery date?

You have to remember that the delivery is 5 days but the seller might state that it will be x days to ship so you expected date is the 5 days plus the x shipment days.

I have found inconsistencies in both prime and the standard deliveries more recently this year.

More items seem to be shipping from their EU warehouses and the tracking for these and estimated delivery dates fluctuate all over the place. The day before or on the day when due they always show as out for delivery then it disappears, a day later shows at the UK hub then arrives a couple of days later after that. It's almost as if the tracking auto updates to the predicted delivery date so Amazon logistics meets the SLA rather than actually reflects an items location. This has happened a number of times.

Several prime next day deliveries don't dispatch quickly enough to private addresses or once dispatched still take a few days.

It only seems to be Amazon locker / Post Office collect point deliveries that always succeed, so I assume this is down to the known capacity for a guaranteed successful delivery being prioritised in busy times.

I went without Prime for a few months again this year and had goods held at the dispatching stage for several days then slow delivery. When I paid for next day, they did always seem to arrive next day though.

I assume Amazon in-stock items include any anticipated imminent resupply so again they can get delayed in the supply chain.

Less items (on re-orders) seem to give you the option to pay a supplement to increase your delivery speed with Prime compared to last year as well.

Amazon via Web Chat always resolve or compensate for the issue. Amazon have more recently been saying to allow longer for deliveries on web chat so something isn't as slick with the logistics as it was historically.

I have also noticed nothing ever seems to come via DPD or branded courrier any more only plain white vans or cars.
