Amazon Prime - Dont have it then you can wait.

not related to OP, but is there anyway to opt out of all the rubbish third party seller emails asking to be rated. I cant see anyway and google doesnt appear to have anything, other than sending marketplace.amazon.co.uk straight to spam/bin folder. it used to be 1 email. Now third party sellers seem to send a weekly email, it's annoying, I'm not interested in rating

I've tried ignoring the emails but they tend to repeat spam. I don't think you can.

Latest Prime "giggle" was last week when we were supposed to get a Blu-ray delivered on Wednesday last week. Nothing appeared but on checking the account, showed as "delivered to occupant". Outraged note sent to Amazon (and you really have to work hard to find the Contact form) which was promptly ignored. Item still failed to appear Thursday so further note sent, this time alluding to not renewing and also starting a chargeback (bit of a bluff) if this message ignored. Well a couple of hours later, back comes an email in finest Mumbaiesque patois which, to be fair, did address and apologise for the failing and another copy of the Blu-ray sent out this time by Royal Mail which turned up Saturday.

Slight regret that I may have got the Logistics guy in trouble. Part of the problem (maybe) is that Amazon are offering next day delivery until quite late, so they probably aren't trunking the items to the local distribution depot until the actual delivery day rather than overnight. Consequently the stuff isn't getting delivered until the (late) afternoon, by which time it is getting dark presenting a further challenge to the drivers trying to find the correct address. Personally I would rather they put anything ordered before 1600 with Royal Mail 1st class, at least there's a chance it will turn up before supper time and, if you're out, can retrieve the item from the sorting office.

Just ordered a backpack from Amazon, don't have Prime so thought it would be 5 days or week at most. December 4th-5th delivery date.

What the ****? Just got an email saying

Hello,

We thought you'd like to know that we've dispatched your item(s). Your order is on the way, and can no longer be changed.

Arriving:
Monday, December 11

And the date for delivery as now changed to 11th December. How the hell can it take so long for a simple package to be delivered? And whilst I'm moaning, why has it been dispatched by UPS from Langenhagen, Germany when the company I ordered it from is based in the UK? Surely they didn't send it Germany first. And the kicker is, now they've added a full week onto the delivery date it's going to arrive after the date I needed it for.

Link to item please.

I bet it is an Amazon Global, meaning it could be in stock in any Amazon branch in the world, and this one is from Amazon Germany if it is an Amazon stock item, or it is from a 3rd party seller base in Germany.

Notice the "Dispatched from and sold by Kit Master Supplies.", well they are located in Mansfield. So how, even without Prime, does it take over two weeks for that to get delivered? Hell, I could ******* walk from Stoke to Mansfield and pick it up myself in less than half that time.

So it’s 3rd party, even with express delivery it still take up to th 5-7th Dec so that’s obvious it’s not going to be quicker if you select free or cheaper delivery.

Six of my deliveries, which should have been delivered yesterday, have been delayed, perhaps until the 6th (they are not sure) due to external difficulties.

According to the tracking each arrived at the depot for Amazon logistics yesterday morning, I'm guessing a backlog for their couriers due to the Friday / Monday sales....?

One of those six is going to be delivered by Hermes, and it didn't arrive yesterday either. That was tracked as out for delivery yesterday.

Agree it is annoying, companies have not responded to my demands to stop, does this breach any Amazon (appropriate use) agreement ?

Are credit card details themselves transferred to 3rd party seller though (even if CC company protect against fraudulent use), or does amazon act like an escrow.

The marketplace emails begging for a rating drive me nuts too. I think the next time it happens I may rate them one star with a comment about spamming emails.

^^^^^ I also get lots of mails from 3rd party sellers who I have dealt with. I do often leave reviews and rate them but I keep getting regular mail, even after contacting them to be removed.

Just got this one now.....

maybe one day I might get something that I want...? :D

Well I think there is a delivery driver walking around with a X299 ASUS Rampage board and first issue I have had in 6 years with 1000+ orders now

Initial one was missing some accessories so RMA'd the whole thing and they back-ordered replacement. Was scheduled to arrive on Thursday, but get a message at 1:30 PM on Wednesday saying it will be delivered that day, no issue as I am off anyways. Come 9 PM, no delivery so expected it may be delivered on Thursday like planned, Except get message saying Item was delivered at 11:27 PM WTF?!?!? Of course it had not been delivered and up until now driver maintained he handed it to me. Main customer service team is kind of useless and was on horn to them and had a issue flagged 12 mins after supposed delivery and investigation open. I provided examples of recent deliveries of higher value that made it to address fine and step by step process of what I think happened. Said team, then read the order number for recent deliveries which arrived correctly and unbeknown to me perfom a check on all the delivery numbers I provided to them as an example of parcels arriving correctly (all aside from the X299 board order) and of course get confirmation from delivery company they received it correctly. Finally they check right order number and Amazon Logistic's is still adamant the delivered it. Finally got on to hold of someone senior and they agreed, makes no sense for parcel to be delivered coming up to midnight, nuts and my order history being pretty extensive they dispatched another board. Of course its the high value item this all happens on, Rant over :)

Yeah if you did loads of review's they will catch on quick. I was in top 100 reviewer's at one point and now still top 150, but cba to leave review's and got 20 or so free item requests a day until Amazon cracked down on it to the extent I made a separate E-mail address for all that. Of course they can't do that any longer so try to do dodgy schemes asking you to buy the item then they will reimburse through Paypal. So many unread E-mails like that lol.

Not related to Amazon but I had one courier insisting to a retailer that they had delivered an item to our house when we hadn't received any such delivery. The front of our property, and road, is covered by three HD CCTV cameras and including that information to the retailer over the phone we were able to tell them that yes the van had driven past and continued to do so without stopping, don't know why. Not sure of the outcome for the courier but we got got the car part delivered by the guy who owned the car spares store, he dropped it off himself after he closed up, he was about 10 miles from where we lived.

Point taken on the reviews, more so for the third party sellers, even when fulfilled by Amazon. I have only made just under the top 2000 reviewers but with many of my purchases being from third parties I suppose they jump at every opportunity to promote themselves.

I do wish that with Amazon Prime I could elect for some high valued items to insist on having a signature, and maybe delivered by DPD - with their delivery time slots and great tracking. It does surprise me that some items that I have ordered, camera lenses as an example, are still delivered by Amazon logistics and require no signature, and could still be left in a safe place.

On my overdue orders it states....

From Amazon Shipping at Thursday, 30 November.
Delay in delivery due to external factors

To be fair delivery time on that item is nothing at all to do with Amazon.

Kit Master are just using Amazon as a store front, and will handle the order process themselves and Amazon will take a small cut granted.

But issues with delivery taking two weeks I would speak to Kit Master, I would hazard a guess that they do not really keep any stock of items they sell, and will have it shipped from the supplier/warehouse in Germany as and when it is ordered.

Its similar to websites that sell Games Workshop products, will have some items in but more need to be ordered weekly from GW then shipped out the following week.

After speaking to a supervisor at Amazon, pretty difficult to get past the first tier of support, they suggested that my outstanding four deliveries might be lost or damaged. They just don't know. They kept updating the expected delivery date almost daily to say that they were expect on that day. Got a refund on all four orders but one was in a lightning deal and another is now out of stock.
Placed another order with a delivery day of today and got confirmation of that. Just checking at it now states...

Parcel arrived at a carrier facility
Manchester, GB

but no out for delivery email.

....not sure if something is going wrong at the local end for Amazon logistics as that is where all four of my last orders went missing.

They do seem to not be able, or at least or reluctant to, contact the distribution point in Manchester to get better or more precise information if that is where the issue is.

If it states "Delay in delivery due to external factors" then not much else, apart from wait or refund seems to be possible.

Placed an order with Amazon for a small item around £10. Due to the price, I had to pay for standard delivery. I made the order on Monday 11th and I recently had an update on the order.... it was despatched Saturday 16th.

How can it take them an entire week to sort out and send the parcel? I wouldn't even feel bothered if I had free delivery but I had to pay delivery.

Has anyone else noted that on some parcels, seems those being delivered by Amazon Logistics, you can track them like parcels carried by DPD...?

Meaning that there is delivery information detailing where the driver is, live map updates with push pins, and how many drops the driver has to deliver before they will get to you.

Not seen it on all delivers but I have on some.

Amazon logistics decided to leave a parcel in our grey bin the other day. Yeah, that’s the utter filth bin. Never mind the relatively clean and tidy blue cardboard bins, let’s put it in the hellish rotting detritus bin. Cheers for that.

Yep I've seen it on one of my evening deliveries.
