Amazon Prime sucks massive donkey balls

Report them. It's a known problem and one that they're trying to stamp out. Amazon reviews are beyond salvation imo. Even products with 1star reviews could be great products but the competition writes fake reviews to kill them off. China is the biggest culprit.

Tried reporting them. Turns out, it isn't all that easy.

The first person I spoke to just kept offering me a refund.
The second said they'd forward it to the correct team. Then I got an email asking me for more details, including which operating system I'm running and the error message that I've received(?). I replied and got an answer basically saying "Wrong team, contact CS".

There is a page in the help section about review manipulation, but it just asks people to notify them if they suspect it is happening, with no details as to who should be contacted. I just gave up and took the offer of a refund.

Looks like an improvement?

Arriving today by 9 PM

O_o

Better than the old arriving today between 8am and 10pm.

However it isnt on "out for delivery" yet, and is no tracking of any kind for driver, plus I have never ever had a amazon delivery here by 9am, so I suspect this is a bit of a false dawn.

I just realised it says 9PM not 9AM, so no improvement on time scales.

Anyone know where Amazon stand on sellers rewarding customers for positive reviews?

I bought some screen protectors for my phone. A different brand from last time, as these ones had rave reviews. Turns out, they're not as good. So why the rave reviews? There's a card in the box offering a free QI charger. Turns out, leaving a positive review on Amazon is a condition of receiving the charger...

I bought a Bluetooth car adaptor that was £15 but had a £5 off promotion so cost me £10 all in. When it arrived there was a card inside which said if I left a positive review and emailed a link to the review they would send me a £10 gift voucher. I made a throwaway email, left the review, and actually got a response. They didn't have any vouchers left... But if I gave them my PayPal address they'd send me £10. I sent it along and sure enough within 48 hours I had £10 arrive in my account from a Chinese address.:D

To be fair, it was a really good product and I felt my review was honest. But it's very cheeky to do to get your product on top. Just goes to show how cut throat it is on the Chinese market that these people take a loss on certain products just for reviews.

Their review platform is just as bad as their question platform.

I was looking at a PoE switch, and the manufacturer mentioned using an uprated power supply would allow the switch to provide more power to the PoE ports. Couldn't find anywhere a link to these power supplies, so thought i'd ask the question and see if anyone else had purchased. Some of the replies i had were shocking - one was something like i haven't plugged it in yet so i wouldn't know. Why the **** are you responding to the question if you don't know the answer.

If someone pulled up along side you in their car and asked for directions somewhere that you didn't know, you wouldn't just make it up....

They're not making it up tho are they? It winds me up too, it's simply that people don't realise that the question is not specifically for them to answer? And they clearly don't understand what "Can you answer this question" means?

Ok it was a bit of a bad analogy, but point remains about the useless answers.

I appreciate that Amazon want to push the question out to every user who's left a review who are likely to be the best candidates to answer these questions, but they need some sort of moderation where people can flag the responses as useless and have them removed.

It's also annoying that half the people don't even read the Q&A to see if their question has already been asked - i was looking at some garden storage containers, and at least half the questions were asking in some way whether the containers were waterproof. Moderation would clear up a lot of these so anyone who actually does look doesn't have to wade through lots of duplicates.

I thought they emailed users who had purchased the item that the question is in relation to?? At least I've only ever had emails for questions on items that I've bought.

Good point actually, i've only ever made a couple of reviews but have had questions pushed through the Amazon app for any items i've purchased (which i haven't reviewed).

I let my Prime lapse - I had initially purchased it a few years ago, so as to get a bit more from the Fire TVs we had - but other than the series Bosch; I have hardly watch anything from the Amazon lineup. Though I did at least appreciate the free and often lightening fast delivery, and I used the Music too - but got fed up with things constantly being taken off the lineup - then I got 2 years Spotify with my new phone.

I don't use Amazon so much these days though, as their prices can often be a tad higher than other outlets, and their postage for anything and everything seems to be a flat £4 and up - even for a parcel you know will be the size of a letter. So I tend to shop elsewhere these days, and will only go back to Amazon for a bulk order where the postage is a bit more acceptable.

Delivery came at 6.30pm, was just a before 9pm, no tracking at all, horrible.

Amazon logistics is so bad now vs the competition, it was ok when it was first brought into service but just hasnt progressed into what is expected now days.

*the original and best amazon whinge thread*?

Anyone see the Channel 4 Amazon 'expose' last night
... they were suggesting Amazon uses targetted advertising based on cookie# data collection from other web-pages you might visit,
has anyone seen such adds, or it was just click bate. ?

(#if you don't have cookie deletion or anti fingerprinting mechanisms)

Yes and yes. It's nearly all clickbate, ignoring it is quite easy.
Andi.

Most online retailers to this. Nothing underhand about it IMO.

Yesterday I paid for next day delivery to a local collect shop and it hasn't arrived.
I live 200 yards from the shop and the shop is less than a mile from an Amazon warehouse.
Who do I complain to?

Thanks

Who says it's in stock at the Amazon warehouse near you? Could be coming from anywhere.

As for complaining - Who do you think you complain too? Tesco? Asda?
