Amazon Prime sucks massive donkey balls

Given you've had a whole selection of bits I'd hope that's a mistake vs being dodgy, be interesting to see what they say though.

On reflection, the items look like something you’d order for a hen do or similar to HOPEFULLY a mistake. They’ve asked me to return so they can investigate.

What’s annoying me is at the checkout it said ‘comes in original packaging’ but by default I often tick the ‘deliver in Amazon box’ or whatever as I use them for other things. Didn’t go to plan this time.

Generally tend to find Amazon pretty good for deliveries. Do occasionally get the odd driver who just knocks and goes, leaving the parcel wherever they feel like. But not an issue really. Don’t really use what the rest of Prime gives, as mainly have it for the next day delivery.

Can't say too much bad about it, for the most part. My biggest gripe is to do with our local DPD driver, who enjoys not ringing the bell and then leaving the parcel on the floor.

Is Amazon Prime still a film service as such? Last year, I added a load of films to "my stuff" with the intention of watching them this year. Films included were Mad Max, Face-Off, Contagion, Terminator series, Anastasia, Austin Powers series, Robocop series, the Mask 1/2, Paddington 1/2, War of the Worlds, the Goonies and Short Circuit. These were advertised as all being included with Amazon Prime. When I checked now though, pretty much all of them are now pay-walled except for Short Circuit and the Austin Powers films. What's going on?

in my experiance they are advertised and then free for a very short time........i hardly watch anything on there now adays.

Thanks @Gavin

Yes I added them throughout last year with the intention of watching them in 2024 but have obviously missed the boat on nearly all of them. Amazon probably has contracts with the various studios and I would understand if some of my library was pay-walled a year later but not 90% of the library!

Had the same thing with Rings of Power disappeared by the time I paid for it got free Prime. Theres plenty of low budget crap to watch though. Prime has to be the worst of the streaming services why people sign up for it is beyond me but I guess its not for the streaming service.

They rotate what's free very often. If you're wanting to watch something do it reasonably soon or it might not be 'on Prime' when you come back.

I'm a Prime member and I pre-ordered a new phone on the 22nd, it was released on the 25th and I was given a delivery date of the 26th. Today is the 26th and as of now, 04:20, the phone still hasn't been dispatched yet it still says 'arriving today before 10pm'.

And if I check the listing, it now says this.

My shoes I wear for work the sole was starting to come away. Ordered at 2:40pm Monday. Got them delivered 8:25am Tuesday. Plus they are £33 cheaper than on the Skechers website.

(like Nowtv) is there not a monthly list of Prime films which will be disappearing behind paywall .. last opportunity to watch, so you can see what turnover is like.

And now the delivery date has changed to March 7th - 5th August. ******* ridiculous. What's the point in pre-ordering?

So after being a Prime member since the beginning (2007), today I cancelled. I’ll hop back on for a month later in the year to watch new shows but outside of that I’m not planning to keep a continuous active sub.

One of the biggest drivers for me is wanting to buy from local shops or independent online sellers. I haven’t been comfortable with how much I’ve used them over the years so finally cancelled.

I cancelled early December, not missed it at all, I will likely purchase a few things providing I reach free delivery, but I’m shopping at different retailers now and local shops where I can.

Recently had a pretty awful experience with an amazon purchase.

Bought a knife sharpening system. It was top of the search result and looked identical to the real thing. Even had the brand name in the title and all the images are identical to the relay system. The price was about £20 cheaper which I only realised after the purchase as I spent some time browsing through the rest of the search results.

Now the genuine system was way down the search list. So there was no way I would have even come across it normally.

This isn’t the real issue. The real issue was when the product came. 1) it was a complete knock off. Had Chinese writing all over the place 2) missing screws 3) the honing oil container was split in half.

Then contacted amazon to initiate refund, that’s when I realised the product was an amazon market sale. To be fair, the genuine item was also amazon market seller so the troubles I would have had probably would have been the same.

So instead of the normal return and refund, I was put through to contact the seller. The seller replied by asking me to return the product to China. Needless to say it was very disappointing and I was xtremely annoyed that A) amazon put a fake product at the top of the listing B) amazon doesn’t clearly state return process instead it is hidden in small text with a link. C) the item was delivered by amazon logistics yet a return needed to go to China.

Took me a while to get the seller to fully refund me but that really soured my shopping experience on amazon.
