Amazon Prime sucks massive donkey balls

Do they track your iPlayer usage w.r.t TV license?

I swear I've watched live TV once in the last decade - we haven't even had an aerial for the entire time we've lived here.

I found out yesterday that with Prime, once a month you can get 2 Odeon tickets for £10 (mon - thur). So that means £5 a movie if go with a friend.

That alone saves enough for the cost of monthly cost for Prime if you go to the cinema just once a month.

No ODEON near me, the fuel costs to travel would negate this perk !

I haven't had proper paid for Prime in years now.

Occasionally get offered a trial, which can be handy.

Otherwise I just order less often. Free delivery over £25 still mostly fine.

Subscribe and Save still works, and I use that the most of all the things. Can subscribe for a month, and then cancel the subscription no penalty.

Yeah S&S is most of my use after cancelling few years ago.

One of the most annoying changes from their already slightly dodgy search system has been that you can't seem to filter out by seller. So have to trawl through a lot of FBA tat rather than things sold directly by Amazon.

Had my first issue with Amazon receiving a wildly different item.

Ordered a Zyxel 5g router, £370 and just received a box of glow sticks, some cheap Chinese plastic boots, glasses with LEDs, some concealer and two fabric marker pens.

Called customer service who said it’ll be investigated and I’ll hear from someone in the next 24-48 hours.

No seals were broken, the seller was the manufacturer (fulfilled by Amazon). The weight is about 1.5kg but the package says 1.9kg on the outside. Wrong label or something dodgy?

I've found that the Amazon supply chain seems to be getting worse.

Delivery times are frequently being missed, I quite often order Blu-Rays well in advance of their release date, these delivery dates seem to be being missed even if the film can be ordered for next day delivery. I find that I end up cancelling the order and going to HMV. I understand that a business may sometimes have difficulties with completing an order, but this is several times that a delivery has been missed - expected date tomorrow, the day after, the next day. Then last month I ordered a USB power adapter to take on holiday, perhaps I should have ordered sooner, but the delivery date was missed and I ended up paying a premium at the airport.

I don't know if this is a thing with my local delivery driver(s) or if it is an issue with Amazon preparing and dispatching orders, I suspect the latter as they are often not marked as dispatched. Either way though, seeing as I pay for Amazon Prime it would be nice to have access to the selling points.

The best thing about amazon is the returns.

I don't return much but if you do its so easy to do and I've had the refund the moment I've posted the item back.

Agree with someone above though, sometimes the auction site is cheaper

The returns process is a big part of why I still use Amazon. It's just very easy to do and I don't have to jump through any hoops or pay for the return and reclaim postage. I still think Amazon Logistics are about the worst couriers I've had to deal with in recent times, though I appreciate that differs by region. At the moment I can't really complain too much though as I was recently invited into their Vine program and have had a good £500 of bits for free, most of which isn't too bad (though most of it does seem to come from China).

Given you've had a whole selection of bits I'd hope that's a mistake vs being dodgy, be interesting to see what they say though.

I think most of them are gig workers like deliveroo etc

seems to be common for the big couriers now too, there's videos on youtube of people doing it
