Amazon prime, yet again not here?

I'm off to a flying start with live chat, first chat had me sitting for 5 minutes with no response after a second message. Then Somdutta disconnects and Jamel says hello. Good live chat too obviously.

I think I may just be lucky with online chat support and deliveries. Amazon live chat is always great for me. Never disconnected and always got my problem solved in a few minutes.

Feel sorry for you.

Forget live chat, it's not as if you get the money in your hand, it's just an extension on your prime membership so spend as little of your own time possible when doing this.

Simplely go here: https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/help/contact-us/general-questions.html?skip=true

And send an email saying this:

Hi, I ordered this item but it turned up late (or "has not yet arrived").

Please can I have my membership extended by one month as per your Prime Guarantee: http://www.amazon.com/gp/help/customer/display.html?nodeId=201117450

Best regards,
Me

Note that you can only get 12 extensions per year, but that's still a free year :)

Amazon has been AMAZING for me recently.

I bought two expensive items but sent them back for a refund. They got lost in the post on the way back. They agreed to refund me instantly when I told them.

Never had a problem even get next day Sunday delivery and they've picked stuff up when I've order the wrong part/changed my mind etc and refunded me before they've had the items back.

50/50 for me, for a while I had items go missing, left in our recycling bin, on the door step...

Amazon have been great with refunds but the delivery service is pretty shocking.

Our deliveries are always when they should be. A few times when the goods were not fit for purpose they have been replaced or we've had a refund. For us they've been very good.

DPD deliveries - all delivered on day promised.

Royal Mail deliveries - all delivered on day promised.

Yodel - Either very late in the day (8pm last time) or day after promised delivery date.

Why Amazon insist on using Yodel is a mystery.

I've had hit and miss experiences with Prime. They have delivered in the mornings but quite often late in the evening 7-8 or once later.
However on a couple of occasions they updated their prime tracking to attempted delivery (been up early and they updated around 9:30am-10am on both counts). Got on the chat with customer support and they mentioned contacting the courier but obviously nothing they can do (i.e. to redeliver on same day but can't due to schedule). Regardless these instances annoyed me (wasted my day) and when my prime came up for renewal it was a no brainer to cancel since I have been ordering less in recent months (price of items hiked).

See for me it's always Royal Mail deliveries too. Both in Brighton and back home. It's also Royal Mail that have lost my parcels in the past. **** Royal Mail.

Between me and 2 colleagues we probably rack up 2-3 prime deliveries a week, be that to home or the amazon locker in town. Over the last year I can probably think of once, maybe twice that they've been late between three people.

Ordering something (a spare laptop charger due to leaving mine at work was the most recent) on a saturday afternoon, having it turn up sunday morning when I needed it on the bank holiday monday saved me a lot of hassle recently!
