AMAZON prime

For real? This is common practice and has been since forever. Offer a service to see if you like it, if you don't cancel it. I am sorry to say this really is not a new trick in the book and if people are not aware of it where on earth have they been living? There are always introductory offers on services to get people interested, it's how it works.

I work for the customer services for a major bank. I do bank account and credit card calls. And we get calls about Amazon Prime on a regular basis. 99% of the time its someone who's bought something from Amazon and then been signed up for it without even knowing it or wanting it. All we can do is tell them to contact Amazon and ask for a refund.

I have Amazon Prime myself. Had it for several years. We get stuff from Amazon weekly so its definitely worth it for us, though adding that streaming service and upping the price was not something I was happy about.

How can you not know you've signed up for it, how dumb do you have to be to do that.

loads of people use the internet that are totally clueless.

I personally set up one womans amazon account and email addy.

She was once after a phone cover or something so I suggested she check ebay but she said she doesn't know how to use it lol

lol check what I just found in the post

I got one of them today as well. Looked at it, thought of this topic and will bin it shortly. I hope i don't get suckered into Amazon's dirty tricks and sign up by accident :p

Just cancel it now. That way you don't have a chance to forget. I cancelled mine 30 seconds after they confirmed my order with free delivery. I still get the trial just it won't charge me at the end(well at least that's what it says).

After clicking the trial I had to confirm I wanted it. On the confirm and previous screen it was pretty obvious with the red writing that they'd charge after 30 days.

My mum unwittingly signed up for prime, I only found out 4 months later when she mentioned getting Brita water filters delivered on a sunday :D

Managed to cancel it and get a part refund. I think it is all too easy to sign up to it though.

Perhaps I am missing something here, but this is the first time I have heard of them actually refusing to accept a valid order... unless of course you had managed to find an unpublished 'loophole' in their system, or something! ;)

You can see on pampers new baby, it's for prime customers only.

Couldn't do without Prime anymore, tbh.

I wasn't happy when they put the mandatory streaming service on there at an increased price, and REALLY am not happy that they've made the Kindle Library a totally different (paid for in addition) service -- but with the amount of stuff that we get, it's a no-brainer at this stage.

Though I'm sure it's encouraging us to buy loads more stuff than we otherwise would have. I mean, honestly... it's like you just think about it and it's on the doorstep. Wonderful.

As long as you haven't used the Prime service after the trial service runs out, Amazon refund it anyway.

If you use it, after Amazon send an email telling you the trial has run out and you've been charged, then you can have no complaints.

I've gone off Amazon somewhat now. I feel like rather than doing all they can do speed up prime orders, they purposely slow down the regular ones...
