AMD 6800 & 6800 XT MBA LAUNCH AT 2PM TODAY - EXTREMELY LIMITED STOCK!

Thanks for update Gibbo, for me I wasn't planning on buying now anyway due to the scalping by retailers. Really disappointed with Amd. What a chance they had to get back in the game and all they had to do was launch with sufficient stock. Failed again Amd and now Nvidia have the upper hand. Damn you!

Once again, thumbs up for openness and good approach IMHO. I will also add that my buddies in EU have same issues with stock with their retailers, along with friends in China. Hence, it's a world-wide shortage of stock and not just UK! Unlike what some people seem to think.

My 670 is disappointed that its retirement has been delayed. Oh well, better to have this managed at the point of order rather than a silly back-order situation.

Don't think either have tbh. Both a complete mess. And as someone mentioned at least with AMD there is a small excuse of having 4 product lines to satisfy between CPU, GPU & Consoles. I have a build that has been sitting half built and will likely be the case till mid January now and I have been looking at either 3080FE or 6800XT, just whatever comes in stock at reasonable price tbh.

Reasoning is simply due to lack of stock and were unwilling to allow a crazy backorder situation to build up on a product that we see very little stock incoming on this year.

As such the product won't be available to order from OcUK today, when we feel we have adequate stock to make product available to order we shall do so and announce that date/time only on our forum.

I could try to purchase elsewhere but I wont. And that's down to your transparency and communication.

I'll wait until you have stock available and keep my business with OCUK.

I don't understand will you have cards available to buy at all ? I've already had my 6800XT order cancelled next day because of no stock despite that I paid for it.
I need a card, please! 2 months without a GPU!

We won't be taking any orders as no stock.

Please do not blame us, the problem lies with manufacturers launching products with inadequate supply when they know full well demand will be huge.
 
@Gibbo Thanks for the communication. What's the latest on the expected delivery of more non-XT reference cards, Sapphire and PowerColor? Last week you said you were anticipating receiving another ~200 of those this week?

Have you considered sticking a sign of the store front saying you won't be taking orders?

I can imagine a bunch of people refereshing the page waiting for the button to become available.
 
Overclockers can not sell what they do not have. I need to acquire this GPU but do not want the uncertainty of a long queue without knowing how stock levels are going to play out. I hope a thread is made to make it easier to keep an eye out for an update for when they will be listed on the website.

Well funnily enough there are global shortages of many other PC components. PSUs, memory, monitors, you name it.

There are lots of components currently OOS until next year. My new PSU being one of them. The monitor I'm after being another :p
