Can someone please tell me in 1 post what happened today, why they didn't release them properly, and if we have any info on when they are going on actual sale. Thanks i advance any info will be appreciated

I know right? Im guessing the guy was being sarcastic? Cause Nvidia earning reports show they sold all our Ampere chips to Mining companies which is a public fact, conjecture is it was more profit and kept the price in the gaming market high as there is artificial scarcity. So the reason we are all looking for cards? Nvidia sold them to miners direct.

Whether that's true or not (it could be), there's no doubt that mining is the most retarded modern invention, ever.I know right? Im guessing the guy was being sarcastic? Literally £billions worth of hardware sitting around solving made-up maths problems, for no actual benefit to anyone in the real world.
I can't believe the levels of idiocy that we've sunk to. Literally flushing hardware and energy down the toilet for absolutely no reason.
The mind truly does boggle.
If you'd be bothered to read i said i have no time I'm working a lot of hours every day I don't have the time to check, I was already on this topic so I just threw the question. You look a bit aggressive maybe because you broke your f5 for no reason today? Don't bother answering next timehttps://www.overclockers.co.uk/forums/threads/todays-6800-series-aib-launch-important-info.18908580/
there's a pinned thread on this if you'd bothered to check
Thanks a lot broOCUK didn't have any stock. No other retailer in the UK had any stock. They might start to trickle in over the next few days or weeks but the majority of people won't get one before Christmas. The prices are nowhere near RRP and in many cases in excess of the 3080's which also aren't available either. Other sites are getting occasional stock drops but no FE's have been seen since last week.
@Gibbo Would it be possible to have a dedicated stock announcement thread that is locked but which we can subscribe to for updates? That way we can be notified if stock is available without the message getting buried in the thread.
What I'm getting at is that that hardware, and that energy, is just being diverted into a workload which is by definition non-productive.Not quite it makes somebody a lot of money!!

And that, somehow, we managed to put a price on a non-productive, non-entertainment, non-anything workload.
It's basically like paying someone to buy all the GPUs and have them sit in a warehouse doing nothing. And similarly, paying someone to take energy out of the grid and just dump it.
Ultimately that's what mining is.
We're paying people to use dump resources.
It entertains noo-ne. It produces nothing.
We're paying people $$$ to dump resources. To take hardware and energy out of the system and dump it.
That's mining.
I have been an AMD fanboy since 2005.
Not anymore, they have let me and others down with this farcical launch.
I'm going to buy Nvidia, a company that know how to respect its customers and how to properly launch a GPU.
Well people prospecting for a mining gold are putting things into the system.Whilst i agree with you, why is 'real' gold any different? Its only use (at least historically when prospecting was just getting started) was to be a precious thing that makes people money. Why does it matter if the thing is a physical object or a virtual one?
That's not a bad idea. The "Limited Edition" hasn't stopped Gibbo from giving them a purchase order for ten thousand unitsI can see four retailers with the limited edition powercolor red devil listed. A card that is only getting 1,000 made worldwide. Ive seen at least 5 reviewers have got one as well so far.
So how many of these will each retailer get, 1 each? @ScottiB ? You may as well frame it not sell it.
