AMD 6800 & 6800 XT MBA LAUNCH AT 2PM TODAY - EXTREMELY LIMITED STOCK!

https://hardforum.com/threads/radeon-6000-series-speculation.2001864/page-13#post-1044808902

Kyle at hardocp reckons there will be plenty of stock coming through pretty soon.

What you are going to see will be different from what NVIDIA has done.

AMD MBA cards will be in short supply up front. However, where you saw NV front-load almost all its cards, AMD is backloading. Once AIB cards hit, you will see 5 to 7 times the inventory released than what NV has shipped total in NA at this time. AMD will be heavily back-loaded into the channel. AMD is shipping ASIC BOM kits nearly daily to AIBs at this point and it will continue to happen throughout Q4. There will be a decent supply through Q4.

Now let me say this again as it is worth hearing. There is no way that when AMD was doing its projections for supply, that it could have even fathomed that NVIDIA would totally **** the bed on 3080/90 supply for the quarter, effectively abandoning the $500 to $1000 GPU TAM. NVIDIA has left such a gaping hole in the market that there is no way it can be filled currently. From my information and analysis, AMD projected to grow its portion of the TAM and will have inventory to do that. The sad fact is that NV simply abandoned its customer in that market and there is no possible way for AMD to fill the void.

I got an order through, had email confirmation and status is "Order received - not yet shipped". Fingers crossed!

Same, as a favour for a mate as he couldn't be at a computer at 2pm. He was happy to pay £80 over RRP if it meant getting a launch card. Didn't manage to get an order through til like 2.30 though so I doubt there will be stock and it'll be cancelled.

Disappointed in OCUK though for the pricing, personally I'm considering a Sapphire Nitro 6800XT when they arrive, and this has certainly made me consider which retailer I'll buy from more carefully. I'm not fussed about getting a launch card either.

Of course making money is the goal here, bogging down a discussion in semantics is a waste of time, I think we came assume most, if not all people understand the basic premise of buying and selling, what I am alluding to, if I have to actually spell it out for you it why the considerable increase in pricing over their competitors? What are OcUK offering to justify that?

Scarcity.

The ebay scalpers are even worse than OCUK!

Those prices are maddening, and the fact that people might pay it is even more insane!

I've been chucking some 100k bids on scalpers cards today :-)

So have lots of others.

FYI
https://www.overclockers.co.uk/forums/threads/free-shipping-for-loyal-forum-members.17943556/

Not based on if you've been here for a decade or spent thousands of pounds with them, mostly based on how many posts you have in the forum. The irony is that most people I see with many thousands of posts are also the same bitching about *insert daily reason here*, yet it's the datum that matters the most to OCUK in regards to loyalty and reward.

I had no idea! I've been a customer for decades but only joined the forum to complain about the AMD CPU launch :P

I got my order at 14:40:10 and got the confirmation email :) Although, I have to say I was traying to checkout for a lot longer than that so maybe they kept me in the queue or something?

Still feeling this bitterness... I am happy I got it but no so happy for the overprice...

Wait and see if you get a shipping notification, if you don’t, you’ll be refunded.
