AMD 8 core RYZEN price

I really hope AMD shake up the prices (although a lot of what we are seeing is due to the pound collapsing which they can't really help) as I just looked at 6800k prices and they are £400 :o WTF?

At one point you could get 5820k's for less than £250!

yes bargin chips then.clock better than more modern 6800k. £400 now

realistically i think the new chip most are talking about will be about 5820k/6800k speeds.so needs to be about £300 for amd to work.factor in cheaper mobo.could be decent.

we will see soon.

Just thinking more about what AMD expect to sell, after all the 4C/6C/8C space is already full but the 6C/8C space is expensive, so AMD could hit home if Ryzen is priced right. 4C for 200, 6C for 300 and 8C for 4-500. The only trouble then is it Intel has the power to reduce prices accordingly, take the hit and remove the threat.

what does AMD and the rest of us really expect of Ryzen?

Problem is, and this goes for there GPU's too, AMD has a poor name in comparison to INTEL and NVIDIA, it doesn't matter how good it is and how good the price per performance ratio is, most will opt for the non AMD product, it's ridiculous, but true

I don't think Intel will drop prices, not right away at least. They will likely bank on brand recognition and play themselves off as being premium. Would take a while of lost sales before they start dropping prices.

why do intel need to drop anything ?

if they are faster they will go up. only reason they will go down is if amd chips are faster or if they want to crush them.and lean on them.

Near the end of 2015 - loads of great deals (you can see the history of such things on hotukdeals).

I picked up the 8pack bundle (think it was black friday 2015) and after taking the cost of the other bits and selling the SSD it worked out that the 5820k was about £200.

Kind of glad i upgraded when i did because even a 6 core broadwell IPC Ryzen isnt going to be impressive to me unless it comes in around the £250 mark!

I would like an 8 core cpu but i fear that AMD will price the 8 core quite high.

Interesting, so if they're true then that means I'll be really happy with the 6800K and won't regret anything on account of Ryzen (unless they're gonna price any of the 8c/16t for £300 or less - so no). Go AMD! :D

I'd buy a new keyboard before a new cpu - your shift key seems to be broken and your space bar works intermittently.

Fake benchmark.

This one is totally legit however:-
