** AMD BACK IN THE GAME: PRICE DROP EXCLUSIVE TO OcUK!! **

the sapphire Fury Nitro at 299£ is a killer deal

This was the deal I thought hardest for, we got 1k incoming as a Fury is so damn powerful and HBM. I feel a very future proof card and really unbeatable at under £400 at 1440P and 1080P, its even very capable at 4k as AMD Matt has proven with running just a single Duo Pro core (Fury).

I've been holding off for the 480 Nitro coming in, is the Fury a better bet at this price ?

As much as I like RX 480 Nitro, it is still a mainstream or mid-level gaming GPU, it just happens to be a very capable one.

Whereas Fury is a flagship top of the range GPU with insanely fast memory (HBM).

Hard call really, but Fury will be faster in everything at every resolution.

Very tough choice, if your playing above 1080p, then the Fury might be a bit better, however i think the 480 is the better deal, although personally i would wait til next week and grab one of the custom 480s when they arrive...

Those Fury deals are brilliant though

Acer xr34 and fury nitro for under £870, sounds expensive but a hell of a lot of gaming lovelyness for the money

To be fair the same from Team Green is £1400, so your saving £500 for essentially a similar experience. I'd say G-Sync has the edge, but is that slight edge worth £500 more?

My point exactly, it only sounds expensive but if you look at the alternative it's a great price, I have the xr34 fury combo and cost a fair bit more but I'm chuffed with it

If i was going for a 1080p monitor + card to run it i'd probably look at

https://www.overclockers.co.uk/aoc-...descreen-led-monitor-black-red-mo-030-ao.html

And a RX 480...

If i was going to go to a 27" 1440p 144hz Screen i would go for something like

https://www.overclockers.co.uk/acer...descreen-led-monitor-black-red-mo-095-ac.html

And a Fury or FuryX

Funnily enough a Fury or FuryX plus that screen is still cheaper than some of the Nvidia 1080 cards i think?

You would seriously buy a 4GB card knowing the way things are going regarding VRAM requirements?

The X34's are my personal favourite monitor, I still have an LG 34" curved for work, but if I was gaming I'd be buying the Acer Predator curved Freesync or G-Sync, OK I know the Freesync is not a Predator, but it is same monitor lol with more or less identical chassis. :)

The Fury is GCN, it has all the new technologies, Fiji was and is well ahead of its time, it just needs software and API support to mature to see further gains which is now happening due to DX12 and Vulkan.

Haha i thought this was AMDMatt at first. It's true though i do have to agree here.

Damn it! I was so close to ordering that Fury X for that price, aaand it's gone :(

Guess I'm keeping my Devil RX 480 pre-order so.

They should not be gone, they are on pre-order, arriving next week and are live on the website stating as such.

Maybe cache issue or something.

I think the Fury X was on pre-order to start with dude.

Yeah as Matt says, it's just on pre-order. Oh well, no real rush. I'll just wait until my RMA/Refund is done as well, and keep my RX480 pre-order up for now. I still really want to test Polaris' dedicated encoding hardware in video work.

Sorely sorely tempted by a Fury. Just a bit worried about it only having 4GB of VRAM (I game at 1440p). Still worth it at that level?

Plenty of benchmarks around for the fury on modern games..

Seriously though the deals are good, the fact you can buy a 480 and a screen cheaper than a 1070 or a Fury/FuryX and screen cheaper than a 1080 is crazy
