AMD Bulldozer Finally!

I don't condone Intel moving platforms constantly, but AMD aren't a vast amount better.
Intels new platform 2011 moves to PCI-E 3, AMD on their new boards etc, are still stuck on PCI-E 2.0 (This won't cause an issue yet).

Intels compatability is next to none existent tbf.

The Thubans are only faster than the i5 in heavily multithreaded applications... That make use of the other 2 cores, any that use 4 or less will see it destroyed.

Upgrading your motherboard brings about getting other things upgraded, like newest version of USB standards and other things. Whilst it's good to not have to reinstall your O/S (pretty much the safe thing to do with a new motherboard), and get a speed boost.. I'd still prefer another motherboard rather than sticking with very old tech.

Would you really want to keep 3 year old motherboard standards?

This thread is very long considering there is close to zero info on Bulldozer. Or have I missed those parts?

AMD has done admirably great job keeping things hidden from public.

I know theyre close releasing new processors ´cos the puddle in my feet is getting larger. . Drool.

That seems rather worrying, why hide information if it is good news?
They're late already, way behind sandybridge, if they don't blast it to pieces with bulldozer they'll be in trouble.

I'm hoping BD is great, not as I want an AMD based system, but to continue competition and to keep pushing intel.

You already have a CH IV? Officially it doesn't support Bulldozer, however there's an AM3+ BIOS available for it, and Asus is allowing unofficial support for Bulldozer, wait for Bulldozer.

Just another thought. Do you think i should get the i7 2600 1155 QUAD CORE?

as long as Bulldozer is good for its price point things will be fine, even if Sandy Bridge isn't 'destroyed', also they have Llano and their mobile chips, Zacate or whatever they are called, since Bulldozer is supposed to excel at multi-threading that will see them increase their server shares so the future is fine for AMD. since Llano offers much much better on-board graphics performance than Intel rival chips and Zacate is much better than Atom, funny how people always forget that AMD are beating Intel in other markets, just not the 'top-end' enthusiast market, and even that is debatable due to how well priced Phenom II has been. ;)

Zacate is better than the atom, AMD are ahead there.
Llano is actually brilliant, but a tad too expensive imo.

But I'm not on about those area's, this is Bulldozer discussion :p

BD has been delayed till next year.

Mashed potatos, anyone?

Would you like to give an early warning before crushing your enemies?

I´m not amd fanboy anymore. Im a true amd believer. lol Im sure there will be a good reason for radio silence. Maybe people in AMD still havent quite figured out how the e-mail works?

E: Or they cant get the cpu´e-mail stable to post some testing results? Who knows.
