AMD Bulldozer Finally!

Nope. Don't think AMD have got it in them to dig themselves out of the hole they're in atm.

They have, an 8 core Phenom on the smaller proces (or faster 6 core) would still be massively popular but AMD have commited to Bulldozer architecture and are intent on polishing a turd.

Not sure it is polishing a turd something went very wrong with BD in the design stage if they can sort that we might yet see a very good cpu from AMD. Too early to write them off just yet though the last couple of years have been very bad for them in the upper end of the pc market even though that segment is not the largest it screams the loudest lol.

Aaaand thats what i dont like to see. A highly narrow minded post that discounts the owners own personal experiences and buyer satisfaction based on endless statistics

Would hardly call Martini narrow minded. He simply stated that the other guy gave little information as to why he feels satisified etc with his purchase. Even I think it was a little uninformative to be fair.

I don't want to hate on a company, but polishing a turd is just exactly what AMD seems to be doing :/

It's a shame as i really like AMD's cheap CPU line up, i got my 965BE because it was cheap and great for what i needed at the time, then i saw the Bulldozer chips stumble into the light yelling we can do this, we can do that, we'll take the Sandy Bridge down and so on. Sadly these were not true calls.

If i had a high end Bulldozer i don't think i would complain, if i got it for free and i couldnt afford the i7's at all. But then still it rather angers me its marketed as a 8 core CPU when it isnt. My mate has a FX-4100 and for his level of gaming it runs perfectly fine so are they all bad? I can't say they are, were they a huge let down? possibly one of the biggest.

I may sound narrow minded in this post but i say stay away from the BD chips, go with the Phenom II's for gaming and i5's for heavier gaming with more leway and i7's if you have specialist needs.

AMD will probably focus on whatever market sector gives them the best return on numbers like maybe server solutions or the cheapest possible pc setups and this time nothing more clockable was generated.

runs everything maxed out even at stock speeds
Unless you need to run something that leans on the CPU, any new cpu should be fine. We live in a time where the new mobile phones have enough cpu for most stuff, of course the desktop runs everything. It would have to be diabolically bad not to

Like to see someone get 60 FPS average on DOWII benchmark with an FX CPU at stock speeds.
It's not happening.

Conjecture and denial aren't valid.
Cold hard statistics are.

Facts and statistics have nothing to prove, no bias, they're simply the reality.

yes i also have a phenom 2 and yes that is a great CPU as well all i was saying is that YES a lot of people think bulldozer is **** but i think it is good it does what i need it to do i already had all the other components for my AMD build so i defo wasnt going to go out and but all Intel stuff Yes in the future i might upgrade to intel but at the min i like how MY bulldozer performs when i play games at 1080p oh anf heres my spec for you

It's knowing Bulldozer is rubbish, not thinking.
Do you have Dawn Of War 2?

If you do, run the benchmark at stock, you will not average 60 FPS, not amount of pixie dust or user experience will change it, an i3 at 80 quid and only 2 cores however will.
That's a Q4 2011 CPU failing to average 60 FPS in a game from 2009 when you do.

I'd love to see you prove me wrong, but it won't happen.
Mates Phenom II X4 at stock could only average a poultry 43 FPS with a 7950, with an i3 it averaged 65 ish.

no and i dont like it i lay BF3 MAXed and yes i know it it more GPU dependant on SP Dead island maxed out Deus Ex: Human Revolution Same DArksiders 1+2 Mad Dogs All COD ALL MOH Two Worlds 1+2 BF:BC2 all Crysis Left for Dead and the list can go on for some time but everything i have thrown at it i have had maxed out no problems at all

Crysis only uses 2 threads/2 Cores, an i3 would still be better at that game.

Still doesn't change that when a game needs the CPU, the Bulldozer dumps its load, it'll flop horribly compared to even an E8600 in Dawn of War 2. That's a 2 core (2 Threaded only CPU) and is rather old now.

MARTINI I DONT CARE IT IS MY CHOICE NO ONE ELSES you like inel i like AMD thats the last im going to say i really really dont care as long as it works great for me and for what i want to do then fair enough yes in a lot of peoples eyes bulldozer is **** but i am happy with what i have got

Calm down, it's a discussion board.
If you want to act like that, bury your head in the sand.
I don't like Intel in the slightest, are you confusing my using their superior products as liking them? No, I like performance, AMD do not offer that. Funnily enough I actually like AMD.

Couldn't be more childish if you tried.
