AMD Bulldozer Finally!

Lol, you do realize that slide was about the second wave of BD not the Launch chips, but if Anand is right (but I could say I spoke to a geezer at Computex and they say that Ivy Bridge is gonna be made out of Jelly) which he may be, but with no sources is still a little meh, and all these reports at the min are stemming from one bloke wandering around a trade show where BD stuff is still under NDA.

I don't know it's true, im merely weighing the chances. And to be honest if there was going to be a June release, there would me AM3+ (990 chipset) motherboards on sale and distributed already. As it stands its not looking good.

Maybe, but remember that the socket 1155 motherboards were launched together with Sandy Bridge. Anyway, 990 motherboards are starting to appear on pre-order.

What davieg said!!

i'm liking the 4.2 turbo,if its true then i will never need to overclock bulldozer ( no need for expensive aircooler or water cooler too ;) ) as i'm sure 4.2 is more than enough to run BF3 & GTA V @ max res. :)

First Crosshair V reviews (Kind of), I'm getting the feeling these boards have been out there longer than we thought and just a real nice lids been kept on them.
Dont get your hopes up that its reviewed with a BD CPU though, looks like they used an 1100T.

A look at CHV UEFI Bios.

CHV Unboxing and overview.

Anyone remember them supposed "Shopped photos" of this and a BD review sample turning up at different places? Well they dont look that shopped now tbh. But thats just assumption that it was a BD sample sent with the review bundle.

That is very dissapointing if its been delayed untill September or later....

From what I'v seen, when a product gets delayed, it usually never recovers...

Take the 400 Nvidia series, it was late. AMD where early, they took ALL the first DX11 converties, gained a mass of wodge and built up a rep with gamers, who probably would never have bought AMD if Nvidia had a DX11 chip at the time.

The 400 Nvidia series deficeincies has only been recovered since the 500 series.

If we are going to see a delay in Bulldozer.... it only means more wodge for Intel, more market share and when Buldozer does launch in September, it will be upagainst an improved second generation Intel i the form of Ivy Bridge.

So its not looking too rosy if true!

But the fact we have BD based motherboards apearing and untill I hear it officially from AMD, Bulldozer could still arrive on time.

So basically it will be nearly one year (-few months) since Sandy launched LOL
It looks like amd decided just to talk about Dozzer just to kill some Sandy sales from Intel.Well, they failed. And looks like they gonna fail even more now.I said it before and say it again, that amd have some real problems with Dozzer. But i guess we cant have a dig at them..?
Now it explains perfectly amd silence and lack of any real benchmarks (if something leaked can be real at all),thos few links posted here with so called benchmarks clearly fake.
All that is bad,i guess i must postpone my cheap Dozzer build for another "25" days..

not if gta V will be as poorly coded as gta IV is

my Q6600 @ 3.6 runs gta iv fine @ 1920x1080. :)

with 4.2 x 8 cores i think i will not need to upgrade for few years, just like when i upgraded from core2duo to core2quad.i just hope game devs in the future will start using the whole 8 cores of bulldozer in games that rely so much on cpu power.

GTA IV runs like a dream on my 965BE at stock with a 5850 at max settings and 6000x1080 res. What are you on about?

wow you must be a tech guru if you made that steaming pile of console port goodness run well on those specs on that res with maximum level of details. how did you fix the game? you must teach me

I read today that BFBC2 scales up to 8 cores, so for sure, BF3 will scale too.

Your sarcasm would be mildly amusing, *****Stop with the personal attacks*****

You said BD would not be able to run GTA V well. If a cheap AMD CPU can run GTA IV now, BD will run GTA V well. Especially given that the brunt of the work isn't even done by the CPU.

Calling me an idiot, over the internet? Outstanding comeback sir, you win the internet... not.
Also, this statement 'Especially given that the brunt of the work isn't even done by the CPU.' with regards to GTA IV makes me doubt whether I should put any stock into your words.

I know plenty of people were claiming that no-one in the UK or Europe had any 990FX boards (or Zambezi samples) as of last week.

Well one part of that 'fact' was obviously bull****.

You're the one advising people on two products that don't exist yet. I call them as I see them.

You are the one making assumptions based on nothing. Do you have performance benchmarks for the new amd chips? Do you know that GTA V is not going to be another poor console port like GTA IV was. (and don't even try to tell me you run gta IV like a dream on a machine that has lesser specs than what I played it on cause that is just horse**** - unless you did some heavy tweaking to the game and/or employed performance tweaks). I did not advise anyone on anything, I just said that GTA IV was a poorly coded game - that experienced serious fps drops even on heavily overclocked SB i7s. From what I have seen so far the new 8 core amd chips have made no claims to best the i7 2600k at anything. So given all this, I say you are the one who fails. Good day!

i have a question guys: which mothboard manufacturer uses the best onboard sound ? & how does the sound quality compare to the likes of the creative xfi cards ?
