AMD Driver Performance - 12.10 WHQL Vs 13.3 Beta 3

Anyone else having problems with these beta drivers? youtube videos are stuttering like mad and not wanting to play on the hd resolutions. Shame as Bf3 was running nice.

No issues here.

For youtube, you could try changing hardware acceleration settings.

Still in two minds whether to stay with 12.11 or go to 13.3 beta

Oh god, yes sir.

One thing while im here (Even OCUK staff were confused with this one), when i uninstall my GPU Drivers and the screen goes black it never comes back on. So i have to restart my PC and then it will say DVI power saving mode or something. The only way i can get around this is when i shutdown my PC is to do a CMOS reset and then ill get a picture back and can install drivers

Have you tried turning the monitor on and off when this happens?

Yeah, tried a lot of things. CMOS Reset was the only successful way to fix it

Its happened ever since i first built my PC, i was in contact with OCUK at the time and they had no idea. I had to find out myself about the CMOS Reset fixing it

Are you using P67/Z77?

If you are, some MB's switch to onboard gfx when CCC starts uninstalling the gfx driver.

You can either manually switch cables to the onboard gfx, or wait a few minutes to let it complete the process on the black screen, something like pressing enter twice to restart(maybe a helpful person here will confirm the final keyboard steps for you as I maybe won't get near my AMD PC until tomorrow night).

I used to have to do it on a MSI P67 for a few driver revisions last year, then after a bios update from MSI, it stopped doing it, it was a right pita until MSI sorted it, maybe it's the same problem.

Z77, i left it on a black screen for 5-10minutes a few times but never tried hitting enter twice etc (worth a shot)

Have you tried 13.1 drivers?

They give me 10 percent more performance bitcoining. 205 mhash/s vs 185 with 13.3 beta 3 however they cause artifacts with windows aero and in firefox if using at the same time. I think they stress the card more for increased performance so using anything that requires gpu power such as hardware accel in firefox or aero causes glitches (black squares jumping around the screen)

Seems other people have noticed this 10 percent higher performance with 13.1, not sure if that would correlate to more fps in games

You keep throwing 25% around as though it's gospel, yet your own benches show 0-4fps differences e.g. statistically irrelevant
