AMD Driver Performance - 12.10 WHQL Vs 13.3 Beta 3

anyone getting a crash in BF3 with the 13.3 beta? Screens goes red

Windows 8, increase your cpu vcore a notch. Nothing to do with the drivers/GPU. Had it happen to me. ;)

You keep throwing 25% around as though it's gospel, yet your own benches show 0-4fps differences e.g. statistically irrelevant

Go and troll elsewhere please Andy. This thread is not for debate about percentages. For your reference.

A short but sweet email from AMD informs us that a patch for Tomb Raider is due tomorrow, giving a nice performance update for Radeon GPU owners - up to 25% more performance in some cases.

I've also decided not to add to this thread any more either. I'm going to start a new thread and post results of 1080/1440 for many of the current games at specific details. One run on each game, most likely highest settings but slightly reduced at 1440p. This will be upaded when each new driver version is released i can quickly check the performance difference and put them in graphs.

you crack me right up Matt, you post up in every tomb raider related thread with benches showing and and nvidia neck and neck claiming "but AMD are 25% faster now because Jesus patch", yet your own tests show as little as 0%

one sided much?

I've decided not to add to this thread on the basis that showing actual test results inhibits my ability to make grandiose and unsubstantiated claims in others :-D:-D

Yes and the Nazis did propaganda too

Also, if nVidia said 25% boost and reality showed much less everyone knows how much they'd be referred to as liars and scorn poured upon them.

Good feedback regarding the benches being level for that game. This forum reminds me of a 1970s socialist lounge at times with its one sidedness vitriol.

Oh god, yes sir.

One thing while im here (Even OCUK staff were confused with this one), when i uninstall my GPU Drivers and the screen goes black it never comes back on. So i have to restart my PC and then it will say DVI power saving mode or something. The only way i can get around this is when i shutdown my PC is to do a CMOS reset and then ill get a picture back and can install drivers

If you dont use Onboard Display, go into BIOS and disable it now next time you remove a driver the screen wont stay black and will switch to standard VGA mode.

Please stop trying to troll and ruin this thread Andy/Rusty. This is not a debate thread for pages of arguements.

Please take it to the correct thread where a 7970ghz is 12fps faster than a stock 680 in Tomb Raider.

680gtx - 51fps - http://forums.overclockers.co.uk/showpost.php?p=24054895&postcount=69

7970ghz stock with matched cpu speeds - http://forums.overclockers.co.uk/showthread.php?t=18501869&page=4

12fps faster. That is what you call neck and neck i guess.

This is not a Nvidia Vs AMD thread ffs guys.

Trolling??

I've already added comments on this thread way back saying I admired your work here. Debate is not equal to trolling. I've noticed that recently if a debate goes a way that isn't wanted it gets labelled as trolling. I suppose you can get away with that on a discussion forum but not anywhere else.

Anyway to re-iterate as it seems to have been forgotten: the thread is very useful to quantify the jumps in performance over the last few months. I'm very happy to have swapped to AMD this gen and you'll be pleased to know that I kept my 1440 monitor so I can join the real mans resolution club :D.

I'm not going to lock or clean another GC thread because some of you don't know how to behave. You should all know better and be adult enough to keep things on topic and in order. So please keep thing civil and keep the AMD -v- Nvidia discussions out of this thread from now on. Any of more of this and I'll issue a 7 day suspension regardless of previous history.

I just did some looking around and your bench for Tomb Raider looks extremely high compared to the other results that are posted Matt? Did you have some settings turned down?

As you can see from this slide, your 1050/1500 clocks match a Titan in this game. Can you confirm if you had all settings on full as well as 2XSSAA?

The other 2 slides are 1080P settings but working out from those, it looks like your scores are matching the 1080P scores but you are on 1440P.

[H] comparison is pointless as it doesn't use the in game BM-it uses a set part of the game.

TR has been patched a few times since release results were obtained too, so they won't be valid either for a true comparison with matts results.

H comparison is worthless. As usual they manage to make Nvidia win when in reality the gap between a 7970ghz and a 680 is 10fps, possibly more as when me and arthur compared i was 12fps faster with us both at stock settings.
