**AMD Fiji Thread**

Already cancelled that BenQ, im going Ti, its still got the DL-DVi, so i can keep monitor ive got now.

Don't blame you to be honest. Unless one is primarily gaming at 4K, 980ti seems to be the way to go. It's what I would do.

Shame really, I wanted AMD to do better so they could gain more market share etc to keep Nvidia from charging us whatever they want.

Get the feeling if there was no new GPUs from AMD, 980ti would be priced at £699.99 the cheapest today. Worst part is a lot of people would be lapping it up and feeling like they got a bargain because they saved £150 and all they missed out on is 6gb vs the Titan X. lol

AMD really need to hire more people to work on their drivers. We need monthly drivers and better crossfire support! If they don't do this, they will push even people like me who want to see them succeed (to create a balance in the market) to go Pascal. That said, Nvidia not doing so great with drivers either lately :o

I do remember a lot of people complaining that the Fury X wouldn't do 4K as good due to low VRAM compared to the 980ti ,but now that we have that cleared up, it seems those same think being good at 4k isn't enough.

If all of the prices were £509, and we didn't see any price gouging, then perhaps words would be different.

I'm still looking forward to having a completely silent GPU with low temps and great performance for a decent price.

Meladath The difference that AMD will also have since they will also be advancing their tech.... how do people somehow forget that?

However, AMD will be progressing their tech next year, whereas nvidia will be evolving their tech... I expect nvidia will make a bigger increase on performance when they change to a new architecture. AMD have evolved their tech today, which is a big improvement over the 290x, but it does not improve over the competition today.

@ 4K it looks better I think. As always we must pray to driver gods though.

What infuriates me is how wildly differing the settings are across reviewers. Some of them don't even tell you what they use. Hardly anyone tells you if they use ultra pack in SoM which is hugely important. Also reviewers love FXAA for some reason even though it's objectively the worst kind. And then there's the graphs which you can't even read accurately so are pretty much useless (guru3D plot graph).

I have to say I'm a bit confused, I admit I want a bit crazy an ordered one at premium price at 13:02 without even looking at the reviews. Now after reading a few of them I'm not sure it was a wise decision...mmm...should I cancel my order?

Looking forward for new stocks of fury to come in so I can get it for the normalized price. It is still a good card for those who wants a cooler and quieter pc. It is comparable to a stock 980ti after all, but I won't pay 150 quid over a 980ti for it though.

Finally got round to reading Toms review, which is mainly at 1440p and actually makes it look quite good.

The reviews vary so wildly, I don't know what to think.

I think so. It's not worth £650. You could have a 980ti G1 for that, which would soundly thrash it (pending overclocking performance and driver improvements which is very much a large bet). £500 on the other hand is probably worthwhile

Hum... I appear to be in the same club as others... did I make a bad rushed buy.

Very tempted to return the Fury when it's delivered tomorrow and get the G1. Guaranteed top speeds now rather than possible top speeds down the road.

I have to admit I'm still torn. One part of me says "you've waited long enough, just get a 3rd party 980ti for £650 and be done with it". The other says "you could have a water cooled gpu with good performance, and potentially very promising performance for £150 less"

So: sure thing now for £150 extra, or take a gamble to save £150 and have a cool and quiet card.

I'm pretty impressed overall. Seems to have varying performance (Early driver issues?). When it does well it does really well trading blows sometimes ahead.

It's early days for the Fury X. With custom BIOS. Driver updates and hopefully voltage unlock things could get very interesting.

I'll see how I get on with my card tomorrow before making a decision. I like to try these things myself.
