**AMD Fiji Thread**

Voltages are 1.2 at stock, thats +20mv up from hawaii, which achieves 1100 at stock generally. From the majority of the reviews I see this card achieves 1125-1150 at stock, which makes sense, I imagine most hawaii cards get to around that with +20mv too.

Really need to see what unlocked voltage can do on this, the cooler is epic so hopefully it could handle something similar to hawaii @ + 200mv 1250, now THAT would make it compete well, even with overclocked 980Ti which right now is the best bang for your buck card this is competing against, at stock its similar, but overclocked the 980Ti laughs it out the park atm due to locked voltage.

I'm disappointed, was hoping it to edge the 980ti across the board with the hope of GPU prices returning to somewhat sensible levels.

£650 for a 5cm2 piece of silicon is crazy money.

Considering a good 980 Ti can be had for only 40 quid more than these are selling, and are a fair bit faster makes it an easy decision imo.. I really don't think drivers are going to make a huge difference, though they obviously will bring some performance.

Disappointing to say the least, i think hardocp nailed it when they said that "Amd's gpu program now reminds them of their cpu program". Lot of hype and build up only for a "meh" final product.

Supposedly designed from the ground up for 4k, but lacks the grunt and vram to be able to do 4k. =/

And people still bought these for £649 =/ =/. I think by now its pretty obvious why they reviews and sales listing were up at the same time.

More than 6? Quite a hunch you got there Columbo.

Easy there sarcastro. How was I to know they only had 6?

I can rephrase, if you prefer... I wouldn't be surprised if OcUK sell more 980tis than they sell Furies, including pre-orders.

The Guru3D review shows it doing well at 4K and trading blows with the 980 Ti, so where are you getting this information from?

I think AMD are still suffering from driver issues and that's why we're getting varied results with different reviews.

I know some are shocked with the performance, but I can't help but focus on the fact that they can only get better with new drivers. AMD know this is their biggest issue and I can see them putting real focus in them for the future and for directx 12

Well, if you look at the history of 290x and 780ti you can see that the 290x does significantly better in the long run, so it could just be drivers. On the other hand, if you want things now, there seems little point in not going for the 980ti.

The issue I have is that AMD's driver support has been pretty poor over the last year (for xfire especially). I'm not filled with confidence that they'll have great improvements any time soon, so it'll be a fair wait before you really get the juice of the fruit. I have to admit that it seems like the 980ti seems the better buy right now, although I do really like the idea of a cool and quiet card. Agh, if only the voltage had been unlocked!
